Robin in Tx
what denomination/theology does this series subscribe to? How calvinist/reformed is it? THanks! Robin
Lisawa
I do not think either.... Its very much like Bible study fellowship... you use only the bible to answer the questions and map work....
Robin in Tx
Thanks, Lisa. HAve you used this? I can't find any information at the website that tells me how many lessons are in each book (ie how long each would last). Something on their statement of faith has me thinking they are not calvinist at all, but I'd like to get some confirmation of that.. surelywhen they teach about salvation, they are coming from *some* position, kwim? No samples online either... does anyone know where I can see samples? Thanks again! Robin
Dawn E
I'm not sure if this is the one you're interested in, but you can see samples at this site Hope this helps, Dawn
Harriet Vane
There are 30 lessons in the book I am using, which translates comfortably to using it September through May. Commentary is specific to the text being discussed. Therefore the commentary for the book I am using with my dd doesn't really come from either a Calvinist or Arminianist perspective. I do not know which it would lean towards if the passage were more Jesus/salvation oriented. I can say, however, that the commentary on the messianic (prophetic) psalms has been very balanced and very specific to the text. For example, the commentary might simply say that a psalm is considered a messianic prophecy by some scholars, and then the commentary might pull phrases directly from the text to support that point. I have been very, very impressed with Explorer's. I would say that denominational bias is pretty low with this program (though I have not seen ANY program that is totally free of bias--obviously every program has to come from some starting point perspective).
