LNC
My state requires testing. I have tested them myself so far,but I'm prone to sighing if they make a math error or some such. Then we don't trust their high scores. Can't test my own children! My home school group is using the CAT-E (survey, shorter test) this year. Is the Iowa a much better test to justify the cost difference? I would also have to find a mom to test my kids and vice versa. Thanks for any input. TravelingChris
I wouldn't do the Iowa based on the extra hassle and cost. It is a longer test. THe extras it has don't really apply to homeschooling very well since your social science and science probably don't line up to their schedule. I have done both, can do both at home, and am choosing to do CAT again to not waste time and for the lower cost.
Starr
I wouldn't worry so much. You know they are doing well.
LNC
I'm not worried. Thanks for your reply though. I am asking if the Iowa is a better enough standardized test than the CAT survey to justify the extra cost and effort required to have them tested by someone other than me. Thanks for the input a few have given me privately and here, anyone else?
