what a nice Christmas present for David Goldman..

Recommended Posts

I know! I was watching it and so thankful for him.

But, I'm also praying for the little boy. He hasn't had contact with his dad for nearly 5 years. All he's known is Brazil and her family. And who know's what they've told him about his father! Also, did you see the media circus going on outside the consulate? Poor little guy. He's just going to have some major adjustments ahead of him. I know how hard it is for my dc to readjust to the US when we visit--and it's not as much of an adjustment since they live with us and our lifestyle is pretty American here.

I'm so grateful he's where he belongs, but, praying for him over the next several months.

The Brazilian family was offered a police escort and entrance through the subterranean parking lot just like David Goldman was given. The family refused it and chose to parade the child for for over a block while the media shoved and pushed them. Their spokesman said the Brazilian family chose to do that to protest having to return the boy.

I saw the video and the child was frightened and crying. The Brazilian family put him through that -- forced the kid to walk the gauntlet of hysterical, aggressive media, to make a point.

I'm very glad that poor child is back with his father where he belongs. He's going to need years of counseling to undo the damage done to him by his kidnappers.

:iagree: And the kidnapping family kept pushing for him to state his case for the judge. I'm so glad the judge had the presence of mind (or more likely the pressure of his government) to do the right thing. There's no telling what the poor child has been brainwashed to say about staying vs. going home to NJ.

This.

One of the articles I read this week quoted Goldman as saying that this isn't about custody, it's about abduction. Horrible what they did to so many innocent people.
