Kendall
I would like to get some water color paints for my interested-in-all-things-art daughter. She is 7. Is there a tray type that is good or a tube type? Not super high quality just better than crayola. Thanks, Kendall
Pink Fairy
I really like Prang watercolors. I will get expensive art supplies when I think it makes a difference (like colored pencils), but even though Prang is cheap the watercolors are very nice for a student. I think watercolor paper also makes it more fun to paint with watercolors.

helena
We use these: http://www.dickblick.com/products/van-gogh-watercolors/ They're cheap for tubes, but like pp said, watercolor paper makes it all look better: http://www.dickblick.com/products/canson-biggie-junior-watercolor-pad/
Kendall
Thanks - Are there colors you would recommend for a basic set? Is 6 colors enough for a 7 year old to work with?
