robsiew
Hoping to get some good book/activity ideas... I have 4 grammar stage kids, but my oldest (age 9) is getting a little bored with our science time. After Christmas we are heading into a human body study and I'd like to give him a bit more challenge than what I will do with the younger kids. We are using Noeo Science and the spine for the human body study is Usborne's First Encyclopedia of the Human Body. I'm more than pleased with this for the younger kids. There are also 4 kits that have some experiments to do for each system of the body we study. I'm wondering if anyone has some ideas to challenge my older son. I'm trying to figure out whether I should have him join us, then do something extra or just have him be more independent doing something completely different (still studying the human body though) and then he shows me what he's done... ie. some reading, then some type of project.... Would love to hear your ideas!
bbsweetpea
Get "The Body Book". We are spending this whole year on the human body and my daughter LOVES doing this. It is geared more toward third grade and up though so I have to help her out a lot. http://www.amazon.com/Body-Book-Grades-3-6/dp/059049239X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260237962&sr=8-

King Alfred Academy
This book had great (simple) experiments/activities to do with explanations.:001_smile:

MeaganS
This may be a bit young for your child, but it's one of the only things I remember from Elementary School Science, and I plan on doing it with my kids: My Body You make a life-size human body replica out of paper and learn about that parts as you make it. Lovedtodeath
Gross Anatomy is a book with included board games. WP has a human body and forensics program that I have not seen a negative comment on. Guesthollow.com has an entire free curriculum with tons of book suggestions and videos.
