3Rivers
My DD (11) wants Photoshop. What are differences between the different Photoshop packages ( I think one is called Elements, can't remember the others)? Which is the most basic, user-friendly? Thanks! Ali in OR
Dh says Elements is the most basic and is more like $99 rather than $500. He says that even Elements is pretty complex. If she wants to work with photos it should do everything she wants (i.e. she wouldn't need anything more); if she wants to do more with drawing, it might not be the best choice. HTH. Mrs_JWM
I use Elements all the time for lots of complex stuff; there are numerous ways to make it act much like full Photoshop. I just look around online to find tutorials so that it does what I want without the $500 price tag. Elements definitely has a learning curve, and full Photoshop's is even steeper! You can always start with Elements and upgrade later at a discount if she has truly mastered everything it can do.
Kim in TN
If you end up buying Photoshop Elements $99, make sure to order a Bamboo graphics pad. It's $99 and comes with Photo Elements! http://www.wacom.com/bamboo/bamboo_pen_touch.php
