praisefor3
I am making a honey roasted chicken recipe for supper that calls for brown sugar for part of the glaze. I didn't realize I was out. Can I substitute white sugar? I guess I'm not sure what the real difference is other than texture.
Daisy
You can make your own brown sugar. 1 cup white sugar 1-2 Tablespoons molasses Mix together. That is all brown sugar is anyway.
Jodi-FL
you could mix your own, or just use white i would think.
Jennifer in MI
We were out of brown sugar once and my ds made it like the pps have said. Quite honestly, the cookies he made were MUCH better than if we'd used actual brown sugar!!! He gets compliments on his cookies all the time now! Lisa in Jax
I make my Chocolate Chip cookies with turbinado sugar and a little molasses. They're better than ones made with brown sugar! :)
