Help me find THE recipe I dream of....

Recommended Posts

for chocolate chip cookies.

Years ago I recieved those recipe cards in the mail every six weeks. I had two sets going, one called Easy Everyday Cooking and the other was Easy to Bake Easy to Make (link here).

There was a recipe (I think) called Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was divine, heavenly, amazing.

And I lost it. I have craved and longed for these blasted cookies for nearly 5 years.

Anyone have it and willing to share???? :D I'll send you some if you do!

I don't have THE recipe, but here's my favorite, from a cookbook produced from my sister's company (it's one where everyone contributes favorite recipes, and has recipes from their employees around the world):

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter flavored shortening (I use regular shortening)

1/2 cup butter

1 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 cup sugar

4 Tbsp. milk

2 Tbsp. vanilla

2 Tbsp. molasses (I use 1 Tbsp, and it is plenty--you can still tell it's in there)

2 eggs

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp. salt

1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream shortening, butter, sugars, milk, vanilla and molasses. Blend until creamy. Blend in eggs. Combine flour, salt & baking soda. Add to creamed mixture gradually. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop rounded measuring tablespoonful of dough 3-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes. Remove to cooling rack. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
