asta
I can't find my WTM book and was hoping someone could tell me the recommendations for chemistry for high school level. Thanks! Boyle, Newton and Lavoisier If you're looking for a great textbook, I just found a fabulous high school one - it's Scottish: Standard Grade Chemistry On the surface, it comes across quite simply, and is very understandable. However, it is very complete. As a bonus, it doesn't have "fluff" and is a slim volume. My kid hates huge books with a lot of worthless drivel. a

freerange
Also take a look at Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry by J Clark. In addition to being a very well written book, there's loads of supplemental info on the author's website, specifically written for home educators. (IGCSE is a UK exam typically taken at 16)
