Greta
My daughter has Taekwondo classes until 6pm four days a week, which puts us in quite a crunch at dinner time. So I need ideas for meals that I can either cook really quickly, or have prepared in advance and pop in the oven, or maybe some crock-pot ideas. I used to cook mostly from scratch, and pretty healthy. But since this TKD thing started, I've been resorting to a lot of pre-packaged and prepared stuff. Not good. Help? LaxMom
Robin Miller has menu plans that use interchangable ingredients, so you prep everything at once, use the leftover pieces of one meal for another during the week, and so forth. You would want to view them by episode, so you can see which ones go together. Each episode has a shopping list and "game plan", too. BMW
Well, this isn't the healthiest, but, if you have any of it made from scratch ahead of time, it is a big time saver and everyone enjoys it. I refuse to make it more than once a month, though, because it's not high on my "healthy" meter! 1-2-3 Nachos! Put in crockpot 1 cream cheese block 2 cans chili 3 cans nacho cheese soup Stir and let get hot. Serve with chips, sour cream and jalapenos, if desired. If you have time earlier in the day: Crock pot swiss steak: cut strips of beef (any type of steak cut, I buy the cheaper) dip in egg, then flour that is spiced up with basic spices (salt, peppr, garlic, onion powders) quick fry about 6-8 min. OR broil (I don't like to fry very often!!) saute onion either as you fry up the steak strips, in the same pan OR as you broil put this crock pot stir drippings (from either the steak being fried or the onions), add in cup of water and beef spices, like bouillon, and 1/4 cup flour, whisking it up for gravy Pour over meat and put on low for 3-4 hours Add quick rolls (from the store) and a veggie... maybe a quick cook rice or any easy side dish... I like to serve it over rice or noodles...

swimmermom3
Frankly, I'd Rather be with the Kids! I've used the More Time Moms Family Organizer for years and found this gem on their website. Nice variety, quick, healthy, vegetarian, low-carb w/ adaptations for the kids. Leftovers get used the next day. Easy.:D
