Sparrows-Song
I'm looking for a good devotional book I can read to my boys (ages 13 and 11) to start out our school days with. We have already read and enjoyed Boyhood and Beyond, Created for Work, and Practical Happiness by Bob Schultz, and Young Man Be Strong by Rod and Staff Publishers. We've tried Christian Manhood but it's a workbook format and I'd rather just read to them. Right now we're doing a WorldView book, but it's highschool level and a bit over their heads. I do need something that is meaty and deep, no fluff. Thanks for any suggestions! Edited August 11, 2009 by Sparrows-Song
Pam H
I have boys too. Last year, I read Victory Over the Darkness by Neil Anderson. Wide open questions that really opened hearts.
Frontier Mom
We like "Dangerous Devotions" and "More Dangerous Devotions." Not too young or old. Another suggestion is any of the missionary stories from YWAM publishing. Great for this age.

Sparrows-Song
How about Do Hard Things by the Harris boys. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my list of to-do's Thanks, Melissa. I'm happy to say ds will be going through this book with his Jr. High church group in September. Dh will be one of the teachers, so he should get plenty out of it. Thanks for the suggestion!
