creekmom
I've been reading about this book (Vocabulary Cartoons for Kids), and it looks like a fun, effective program. Here's the problem, I already have Wordly Wise 5, and Word Roots from Critical Thinking Press lined up for my 5th grader next year. Vocabulary is one of my personal weak spots, so maybe I'm overcompensating?! How do I work in all three programs??
Frontier Mom
I used this last year with my older two. Here is what we did: Each week they studied the 10 words for that week. Day one they went over the first five, Day two the next five. Day three they quizzed each other. Day four they took the quiz that is in the book. I also had them pick words from this to use in their writing. I think it is a low stress way to learn vocabulary words and the cartoons really stick. tarana
Someone suggested these books for my 7 yr olds. Who is the publiser? Can I order them online? What level should I order for 2nd graders?

creekmom
I found the kids vocab book the cheapest on buy.com. Someone said the kids vocab was best started around 5th grade. Diana Hopkins (lovetolearn.net) wrote about it on her blog a few weeks ago.
DaisyMay
I bought this at our area's homeschool convention last year, and have yet to use it. :glare: It does look great, though! I'm hoping to start this year. Gayle
