AuntieM
We do not plan to use any curriculum for this, just the state guide and logging hours of supervised driving (with parent/instructor). I am curious to know how others have created enough course work to give a half credit for this.

I am curious to know how others have created enough course work to give a half credit for this. I don't think we gave a credit for it because we didn't need it. Also, our state doesn't accept any of the "at home" driver's ed courses. We had to cough up the money (almost $400) for driving school. But, if the kids attend driving school, they do get a good discount on their auto insurance when they get their licenses. I do remember when I was in high school that driver's ed was combined with health for a one semester credit.
TravelingChris
I am giving my daughter half a credit for driving. She took a four hour drug and alcohol class, a road rules and driving tips course and she has been driving for a calendar year. Her driving includes high speed interstates, driving in torrential rain, night driving, mountain driving, rural driving and driving in cities. She has more than 50 hours of driving and much more driving experience than I had before I got my driver's license and my half credit of drivers ed. Do most colleges count it towards GPA- no but if we move to someplace where they want x number of credits, it helps.
