Robin M
We are going to continue with VIE for grade 4 and Spelling workout. However, I looked at Wordly Wise while at the store and really, really liked it. Think it would be beneficial. Would it be too much? Have you substituted for spelling or used with it with spelling. Who here is using it and what do you think about it?
Chris in VA
We used either A or B with Spelling Workout and Rod and Staff Grammar in second grade. At that level, I felt dd's vocab development was much more related to her exposure to fine quality literature than to WW. We quit after 5 or 6 chapters. Ymmv, of course. Colleen in SEVA
I use the Wordly Wise series while also doing MCT's roots-based vocab. WW books are not time intensive (30 mins per week for DS, 5 for me) and the later grades are great. K & 1 are fluff, 2 & 3 (previously ABC) set the stage, and 4-12 have great exercises. I'm not familiar with VIE, but I think WW is easy enough to add to any program.
