HappyGrace
I just want to pick a few and I'm having trouble narrowing down. Thanks!
patchfire
We haven't used them yet, but I'm most excited about Ain't Gonna Study War No More There Comes A Time Invasion: The Story of D-Day Gettysburg Note: The first two are OOP, but readily available used on Amazon Marketplace. I'm not sure about the last one (I found a copy years ago at an used bookstore and have been hoarding it!), and Invasion is reprinted now as a Sterling Point book. HappyGrace
Thanks-I will mark these down to take a look at!
WTMCassandra
Off the top of my head: The Story of the Pilgrims and Julius Caesar. Honestly, we bought a bulk lot of them, and my children have enjoyed them all. My son even enjoys the obscure ones like histories of the different branches of the military. I haven't found ANY that were terrible.
HappyGrace
Oh, great to know there are no really bad ones, thanks. We have only done the Pilgrim one (last yr) and it was great!
Jeanne in MN
I'm really enjoying Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo.
Rene Austen
Along the same lines, take a look at the Sterling Point books, many of which are reprints of the Landmarks. They have all been excellent, but for the modern age my son especially LOVED The Deadly Hunt: The Sinking of the Bismark and the Teddy Roosevelt biography. He seriously devoured them, and The Deadly Hunt ingited a fascination with naval warfare that continues.
