mom2denj
if we have never used R&S English before?? She will be in 7th grade in the fall and I am wondering if I should start with 6 or 7?
Aunty Social
It depends on how much grammar she has had previously. I might start her at R&S 5. Rod and Staff is incredibly rigorous and requires more than a lot of other programs. I have heard that the 8th grade level is more like high school or college. I think that I will look into 5 or 6 first.:)
willowcreek
I'd agree with 5th. Might look at sixth, but I definitely wouldn't start at 7. I've used it all along and it is difficult. Fifth introduces all the basics, and sixth really adds in a lot on complex sentences, diagramming subordinate clauses, etc. If you aren't ready for that stuff, go with 5th. Soph the vet
I agree with the other posters. I've used 2, 3, 4, and 5. R&S5 was really substantial, IMO and 6 is looking daunting! Err on the side of not overwhelming your dc if they have not had formal grammar yet.
