Kim in SouthGa
We are going to be stopping in DC for a couple of nights on our way to Maine, and I am clueless as to how to find a good hotel. We will only be there for two nights, so I want to be somewhere that will be easy to get to all the museums and historic monuments. We are a family of 6, so a suite would be best. Reasonably priced and CLEAN! We usually stay in Embassy Suites when we travel, so that is the type of place we are looking for. :auto: Any suggestions? Thanks a ton!! Erica in OR
Tripadvisor.com has hotel reviews you can look at, and you can also map out where they are in relation to what you'd like to see. Erica in OR
OhM
When we took girl scouts last summer, we stayed at Washington Suites Georgetown. Decent price, good location (near Foggy Bottom metro stop). Kitchens in room and Trader Joe's across the street. Continental breakfast. We loved it!
swimmermom3
This is the Embassy Suites our family of 5 stayed in last summer when we were in D. C. The pool is small (important in this family) but everything else about the hotel made our lives easy.My kids maintain that this was the perfect vacation. We used Metro and taxis. A long-time native told us that there are times when a taxi is the best way to go in D.C.. My frugal but well-traveled husband would agree with this:001_smile: Have fun! I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.
lorilou
We just stayed at the Embassy Suites on 22nd St. last weekend. It was fantastic...close to the Metro, so easy to get to the sights! :001_smile:
unsinkable
Kim, We took a trip to DC & ended up staying in Homewood Suites in Alexandria. It was only $199 a night. You are about a 5 minute drive to a Metro station & about a 20 minute Metro ride to Smithsonian's stop. http://homewoodsuites1.hilton.com/en_US/hw/hotel/AXEHWHW-Homewood-Suites-by-Hilton-Alexandria-Virginia/index.do
