Alexandra
The plants are pretty yellow. Do I wait until they are totally wilted and brown before I start digging? In the past, I always just dug new potatoes - so not sure how to handle mature plants! Thanks!
TeacherZee
Have the flowers stopped blooming? If so then you can you start taking up the potatoes.
abreakfromlife
wow...I just planted mine last week. Where do you live that they're already ready to be harvested?? Didn't there used to be a green jealous smilie? if not, they need one. This is as green as I can do, lol. :smilielol5:
BikeBookBread
My husband and I have potatoes growing in a plastic kiddie pool right now. The plants are about 8 inches tall. 1) When do we start mounding the dirt on them? and 2) how much foliage to you leave above the mound? They seem amazingly healthy. It was kind of an experiment. Of the 30 or so seed potatoes we planted, we got 20 plants/shoots from the big plants. We're pleased!
