    There's lots to do today. We are going to the children's museum for a STEAM thing this afternoon. I must pick up a veggie tray and ship an item for return while we are out. I want to school some before we go. I need to get the house and yard decently picked up, bake a birthday cake, hope my packages come in today, and start on decorations for the party tomorrow. Wrap presents. Throw together some party games for the kids.

     

    Okay. I can do this. Ready, Set, Coffee!

    Good morning! It's morning!

     

    DH refuses to speak directly to me, so all communication must now take place via text message. I think it's half ridiculous, and half a relief. The relief part also includes the idea that I have more time to formulate a more respectful and thought out response. I can pray over things. I don't see a good end here, but God is in the miracle business, so who knows?

     

    We're starting our day with Liberty's Kids, while I write up a school record of the last 2 weeks. It was casual school, because of the flu and the drama, but I still want it recorded. When that's over, we'll do the things and read the books. I have business calls to make, then Imma look up bellydancing instructional videos. Because it's fun.

     

    Can anyone tell me how to take screenshots on an Android?

    On my phone you press the volume button and the power button simultaneously, and hold it for a second.

    There is a blue check mark on the bottom left hand side when you type in Tapatalk. Click on the blue check mark and it will uncheck it. I only remember to do that some of the time.

    Mine no longer has the checkmark option. It used to, but it disappeared with the last update.

    (((Lana))) keep the faucets dripping! Do you have a fire place? Is it out for lots of people? Do you have family or neighbors you can go to? Call the hotels before they fill up!

    The faucets are dripping. Husband is on his way home with a generator and the power company says they have "identified the issue and crews are working to restore power."

     

    It's getting pretty cold now, but our house is better insulated than I thought. It took several hours for the cold to get bad.

    My stubborn child just made me spend a half hour explaining multiplication and division to him. All I wanted was for him to skip count, but he absolutely refused until I explained why he should do it, what it's leading up to, and how I use it in real life. Now he is happily watching skip counting songs on YouTube and singing along.

    Someday we are going to live in a low COL area and we are going to have some kind of living situation in which we can actually consider houses based on fixtures.

     

    Whenever Texans describe house shopping I imagine them as multi-millionaires. Then I remember... our real estate market is a hot mess.

     

    We are going to get a nice tub on Craigslist and install it ourselves.

    Sometimes I like to imagine myself as a multi-millionaire.

    I went out with my ladies tonight and it was so much fun and I had 3 drinks. DH got off work early and volunteered to take the boys to his Mom's and then went to play pool. Apparently he had more than 3 drinks and will be sleeping on his buddy's couch tonight. So I have a buzz and a completely empty house (except the pets) and am going to ramble to y'all for a bit. Than I will sleep the sleep of the dead.

    Actually, that’s the one really splurge-y thing I want for our addition: a bathtub deep enough for my b00ks to float. [emoji861][emoji861]

     

    We went in and applied for the loan today! Exciting!

    That was the one thing I wanted when we were house shopping: a tub that was high enough to submerge my bOOks and my knees at the same time.

    Tonight I am taking the boys to the ILs so I can have a girls' night out. The overtime stress is getting to DH and things feel tense right now. He hasn't been home before 9 pm all week. When he is home, he exudes a bubble of negativity.

    The overtime stress is also getting to my boys. They get needy and clingy and uncooperative when Daddy works long hours. I hope they don't throw fits when I drop them off. I need a few hours of adult time, and I need to go to the store sans kids to buy birthday presents.

     

    Also, I need a drink.
