  1. BJU often has a Christmas sale where the online recorded classes (same as DVD) are only $99. We plan around that.
  2. Hi, I have some Audible credits I need to use up and my son will be taking an Omnibus III class this fall. I know he will want to listen to some of the books. Can anyone recommend which titles from the Secondary books would be good on Audible? I would like the longest/hardest ones mostly! : ) Thanks, Wendy
  3. Hi, My son is participating in a 2nd grade AAU basketball tournament this month. He is required to show Proof of Age and Proof of Grade to play. I have his birth certificate for the Proof of Age, but I'm not sure what to submit for the Proof of Grade. Has anyone created their own report card for this requirement? Any other ideas? I'm sure we're not the first homeschoolers to play AAU! Thanks, Wendy
  4. I just don't get the new format for selling. I went to the Classifieds section and typed in BJU in the search function and nothing showed up! Am I doing something wrong? I even tried an advanced search for Bob Jones and BJU and still nothing. I previously bought a lot of things through the For Sale forum and this new one seems very user unfriendly!
  5. We did this...it was totally free and the kids look great. Thought I would bump this up!
  6. We purchased a VP self-paced history course and it will not run smoothly with our internet connection. Does anyone know if Veritas Press gives refunds for these programs? Thanks!
  7. Yes, the supply list looks expensive, but the author says that you can just watch the video labs for the items you can't purchase. I went ahead and ordered the curriculum last night because it looks so good from the samples! There is one review on the website that sang many praises. Wendy
  8. Hi, I'm interested in using this with my 8th grader. Anyone use it yet? I'd love to hear how it works in your home. Thanks, Wendy
  9. I'm interested in this for my 8th grader. Has anyone used it yet? I would love to hear some feedback. Thanks, Wendy http://www.diveintomath.com/dive-earth-science-online-course/
  10. Have you checked this website? http://www.pearsonschool.com/index.cfm?locator=PSZu6g&PMDBSUBCATEGORYID=25941&PMDBSITEID=2781&PMDBSUBSOLUTIONID=&PMDBSOLUTIONID=6724&PMDBSUBJECTAREAID=&PMDBCATEGORYID=814&PMDbProgramId=52181&elementType=programComponents I just copied the ISBNs and then looked them up on half.com and amazon. I bought the 2009 textbooks and found the Guided Reading Workbooks there also. I also bought the Discovery Channel School DVD Library and the Lab Activity DVD Library for reasonable prices. I haven't heard anything about the Student Express CD-Rom, maybe I should check it out. Hope this helps! Wendy
  11. http://www.sadlier-oxford.com/index.cfm Sometimes you can find copies on Amazon, but the current editions are on the Sadlier website. There are also fun games that correspond with the levels. We haven't used any of the TMs, the books have been self- explanatory.

  13. I had my oldest do every problem and we got wayyyy behind. I love what my kids have learned with MM and with my younger two we now skip a lot of problems to stay on grade level. If we run into issues we just slow down and do more of the problems. My eighth grader is now using TT but learned so much with MM.
  14. Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has done a schedule for this. I'm assuming I'm not the only one that has an interest in combining the two! thanks
  15. Hi, My son is going to listen to MOH 3 while doing Sonlight H, which uses SOTW3 and 4. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a correlating schedule? Thanks!
  16. Heart of Dakota has some nice lit lists we have used. My reluctant oldest really took off with chapter books in the 5th grade. We had read the Great Brain series (8 books) aloud a few years earlier. I assigned him the first book and he just took off. I know they aren't short but each chapter is a story within itself. He also really loved the Rick Riordan Lightening Thief series. Athough those were a bit longer, they captivated him. I have seen a big jump in reading ability between 4th and 5th grade with my boys. Good luck!
  17. I'll have to check out the buffer, we have a lot of CDs around the house that could use some repairs. I'm thinking that maybe I should try to copy all the disks next time and just let my son use the copies so I can still sell the originals when he's done.
