  1. Wow! Thanks for setting this up........................I just signed up to join your webinar. I am just researching the CLEP options, so this is very timely. Thanks so much again, Christine
  2. Thanks very much. I tried to do a search for the topic, but got no where...........................maybe someone can give me clue how to search?
  3. The dvd's from the Teaching Co. Anyone tried these? Are they very useful or mostly common sense stuff you already know? TIA.
  4. Chalkdust puts out a good review of concepts for the Math portion of the SAT on a set of dvd's that my dd used a month or two before the test. The Complete SAT Study Guide put out by Collegeboard gives plenty of practice taking "real" SAT timed tests........very beneficial. A big part of the SAT is learning the strategies of taking the test, and taking actual tests as practice really helps.
  5. Dd is doing a happy dance because her SAT scores were in the range of Cornell, her dream school. Hope everyone else scored well.
  6. We used Apologia Chemistry this year with my 13y/o and 15y/o. We also purchased the extra MicroChem lab set and did this every other week with a few other kids, kinda like a co-op. Both my 13 y/o and the 15y/o were able to do the work on their own & do well on all the tests.........both have an "A" averge, and both very much enjoyed the course. My only negative would be that my 15/yo looked at the Sat 2 Chem study book , and felt that there were areas on the test that we hadn't covered in the Apologia text. (Those are probably covered in the Advanced Chem book. ) My recommendation would be that for kids that don't want to persue a science career, and for parent user friendliness, this is the best course.
  7. Anyone know of a good way to search for scholarships. I'm finding a lot of marketing ploys under the guise of scholarships while internet surfing. Any legit sites.........anyone gotten some really good scholarships independantly?? Any help appreciated. TIA.
  8. Thanks for all the reply's. Which edition of the Giancoli text did you use? Did you also purchase the student study guide and solution manual? TIA.
