I've looked up names from roadside crosses on the Internet before. I'm fascinated by finding out how things happened. My husband thinks I'm nuts too but that one is minor compared to other things about me!
ETA I do find them very sad and for me knowing what happened feels like both a way to remember someone who died even if I don't know them and it plays into my anxiety. I almost feel like if I know I can prevent it from happening again to my loved ones. I'm also really fascinated by mysteries.

Oh goodness, glad you got to the ER. Scary. Hope you feel better soon.

Poor girl. I hope they admit her and don't brush this off. An 18 day migraine seems insane but I don't know what is possible.

I'm glad she has you to advocate for her. It is frustrating getting the right care sometimes! I hope you get answers and an easy solution soon.

We love Right Start but it isn't the best fit for everyone. Works well for how my boys think.

We split our shopping between Wal Mart and Publix. Meats and produce we get at Publix. Inner aisle stuff and frozen foods we get at WM unless Publix had a good sale. We are brand loyal due to severe allergies. We do savings catcher at WM. Aldi is being built, we'll check it out when it opens. Occasionally we pop into Winn Dixie but it's out of the way. We don't have any other options.

I'm sorry this isn't ending for you guys. My heart aches for both of you. The only thing as hard as being the one who is sick is bring the mom sick with worry.

I have an aunt Dalia. I love it so I voted for Adalia. Sophia is my second pick. I'm not a fan of Sylvia. And Claire is one of my favorite girl names every.

My boys are going as Doc Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future. I'm having to modify an adult sized doctor's coat into a white scientist jumpsuit for Doc. Basically I'm sewing the bottom into legs, we'll see how that turns out! Marty is easier, but I need to find the blue checked shirt for him still. The red puffy vest and jeans are on order with the Children's Place.

My boys really don't need toys and I'm not sure what to put on their lists. So far I have...
9yo: swim gear for swim team, Legos, lots of board games, books, something Harry Potter related, wood burning kit, swim poster
7yo: lots of board games, books, Legos, better keyboard for piano practice, something Harry Potter related, tree swing, beginning photography books

Scents don't bother me but my sister is super sensitive and gets migraine headaches from them. I'm always conscious of smells because of her.

I'm not sure about the hand crossing one. I can't even check because he's got a broken arm and his hand is cast!

Ditto others. I need to check multiple options.

Thanks for the update! So glad for the improvement. Before my daughter was diagnosed with FPIES, they ruled out Cyclic Vomitting Syndrome. You might want to check it out. https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/health-topics/digestive-diseases/cyclic-vomiting-syndrome/Pages/facts.aspx#what
My friend's son was diagnosed with this a few years ago. He suffered for over a year then a nurse asked if he'd ever been tested for diabetes. Turned out he was actually diabetic and was going through vomiting cycles related to blood sugar drops.

Race spectators are awesome. And thanks for this post! We've had a rough start (outside issues unrelated to homeschool but causing interference) to this year and I'm feeling behind, I so needed a pick me up.

I just went and read the other replies to this post. Love some of these ideas and an going to implement them!

We do ELTL and Wayfarers. I've never written their narration of the fables down. I have them narrate orally (and despise listening to them because of all the stuttering and bouncing but I think it is good practice for public speaking eventually). Then for writing I have them do a written narration on history or science. They keep a notebook, illustrate and then write a paragraph on whatever topic interested them that day. I guide my youngest (2nd) in his writing, helping him to create a cohesive paragraph. My oldest (4th) has a good handle on writing so he does his own. My oldest also does Writing & Rhetoric for additional writing practice (youngest will start that in 3rd). As the year progresses I'll probably work on writing longer "research" type papers with my oldest, expanding what he currently produces. My youngest needs a ton of hand holding when it comes to anything writing related.
That's just what works for us. Probably isn't the right way but it's our way!

I always send his own food. My oldest has multiple allergies, all anaphylactic. I wouldn't trust anyone else or put that worry onto them. The only exception are for grandparents, they are trusted to prepare safe food but usually with my okay of ALL ingredients.

Loving/Liking:
ELTL...working great for both
Beast Academy liking, but I think I need to supplement a bit for a few topics. (4th grader)
Right Start loved B, am liking C but I need to speed it up (2nd grader)
GSWL boys are enjoying it! Very quick and painless so far but they are retaining.
CAP W&R Narrative 2 is going great with my 4th grader.
AAR and AAS work really well for us and I'm seeing so much growth!
Geography through art book (part of Wayfarers) the boys are loving the art projects so far!
Ok:
Wayfarers for history and science. I haven't decided yet. I definitely don't dislike it but I'm not totally sold it's right for us. My oldest loves Quark, my youngest isn't really following the story.
No hates!

I enjoyed all my school years. That's not to say they were perfect but I had friends, had fun, made good grades.

I'm so sorry. Praying you still get a miracle.

Glad it's going so well!
Personality change after surgery?

I had no idea this was possible! My youngest has had 3 minor surgeries (3 sets of tubes and adenoids removed). I've always been nervous of the anaesthesia but now I'm going to be freaked!
