  1. So sorry. I know the pain of these migraines and how tricky it is to nail down causes since it seems that each individual is different. I can say that I found my own migraines to change dramatically during perimenopause but especially approaching menopause. I remember my GYN wanted me to get scanned since he feared a brain tumor but I knew it was just the blasted migraines shifting and changing. That was me but it is good that YOU got your tests. In my own experience the pain increase horribly with age and the location of the pain shifted from the behind the eyes and down one side of my head and neck/shoulders to the top of my heard as the first symptoms (excruciating pain) and later moved around to what was 'normal'. BUt the pains was so much more intense. SInce hormones are involved with migraines, it makes sense to me that the fluctuating hormones during menopause would cause a change in the migraine patterns.

AS to meds, it's trail and error, I think. I never did find one that I felt comfortable with since reading the fine print scared me away. Taking magnesium after menopause has helped tremendously though! SO did accupuncture for awhile. Hope you can find something that works for you!:grouphug:

  2. Thanks! I did get a quote from them this morning and a nice conversation. It is a plus that the driver's are employees and this is not a broker. APpreciate your help.

Also found this fantastic company in Iowa (love the mid-west reliability!) called Alpine Transport and they were able to get it picked up tomorrow with a weekend delivery. DAS was 10 days delivery. Plus Alpine was $650 cheaper! These guys are amazing in case anyone else needs this service in the future. Dealt with Dave Fountain.

Again, appreciate your help and DAS was going to be my choice till I found Alpine.

  3. I have spent two days trying to get a car my ds bought on Ebay delivered before he heads back to college on 8/12 and am really nervous. Anyone know of a reliable FAST transport company? I have quotes like crazy but no hard delivery times. Contracted with one outfit who said they'd pick up the car today then no answers to calls, nor replies to emails nor pick up. Sent a fax and email canceling figuring something must be out there. Any hive families in the shipping business???

  4. File a claim and get AMZ involved. Something similar happened to me recently with AMZ seller. She dumped a paperback textbook into a huge box with no packaging and all of the pages were bent, torn etc due to shipment. I filed a claim and offered to settle for a percentage off the original price. Amazon gave me a full refund. At a minimum, you deserve a break on the price. FOrget the seller and deal with the company!

  5. Very frustrating. By chance, did you use your credit card for payment through PayPal? Not sure if it would work but you could file a claim via the credit card if you did.

Petty response by the seller to 'mark' you negative after all of this. This is yet another example of why the Ebay umbrella can be beneficial for a buyer at least. SO sorry you had to deal with this.

  6. Yes, they are expensive! Maybe the difference is tax? That's what is a hit for our ds. He lives on campus but is going with the cheapest meal plan allowed. You can see why kids want apartments and cook for themselves. I sympathize! Can she just pay as she goes? We considered that since it is an option for ds.

  7. My grandmother sent me her Tea Set (from China! That my dad gave her when he was in the service!). It broke. I tried to file a claim since the package was insured. It took SEVEN MONTHS for them to "investigate" to see if: a) my grandmother was at fault for not wrapping and claiming the items to be fragile; b) if the carrier was at fault not handling the package correctly; or c) if I was at fault (dropping the package or any other act of God once the package was delivered).

They decided it was probably "a" or "c", and thus insurance did not cover it, and there was no other recourse.

So in my opinion & experience, insuring packages thru the USPS is a SCAM. Just pray/hope the seller packages items well (and when I'm the seller, I make sure that I package items the way I would want it done). And if it's something like a Tea Set from your dad/grandma, have it sent by FEDEX or UPS!

:iagree: Insurance is a scam. Had a similar thing happen so anything of value goes FedX or UPS.

We live in a rural area and they don't deliver to a mailbox at our home but to a central location near our home with a bunch of boxes. I learned last Xmas after a cake kindly delivered and left at our gate by the postal lady disappeared that the workers are not allowed or supposed to do so without a signed release from you. She now calls me when she has something that doesn't fit and I meet her to pick it up. UPS and FedX leave things in plastic bags all the time here too.

SOrry for your frustration but insuring it would have been a bigger nightmare in the long run imho.

  8. Shrimp quesadillas? Buy the shrimp precooked, cheese already grated, tortillas premade, cilantro as well as guacamole and sour cream, salsa on the side. Can serve with rice or beans. Buy some fancy pastries for dessert. My inlaws always think this is a fuss!

I like the rib idea too! And then just make bananas Foster for dessert. Folks think that is special but it's a snap.

  9. My suggestion would be to use the EBay "resolve a Problem" and work through them rather than directly with the seller. You have Buyer Protection with Ebay and these seem like good candidates for that. Stick to your guns. Ebay IS fair but you need to be persistent. Good luck!
