  1. I have been doing Writing With Ease 1 with my son and he is doing fine with it. But we skip the copywork part of WWE1 because I have other copywork I would rather him do. So I’m guess I’m just wondering how different WWE 2 is from WWE1 and if skipping the copywork sections would be an issue.

  2. I always feel like throwing up warrants skipping but my son will sometime drink water too fast and then throw up in the morning and then be totally fine for the rest of the day. But I end up skipping things just to be safe

  3. I like party in my pants. They are really thin and absorbent and the patterns are cute. I have used a diva cup too but it has not fit the same after my vaginal delivery. I need to try some other cups but I am not sure I want to buy a bunch of different ones to figure out which one fits.

  4. How about this: I stopped having parties for my kids because nobody ever honored my no gifts request. I have 4 children. We don't need more junk (and I'm sorry, but most of the gifts tend to be junk). Even if they weren't mostly just "stuff", we don't have space for 10 gifts per kid per year. Plus, my kids have plenty.

So guess what? Now no parties at all. It's sad, really. I sincerely wish that people would just respect the no gift request. My kids liked having parties.

This is a bummer. I just have family parties because I don't want to deal with the gift thing. But maybe for parents who get gifts they don't want they could talk to the child before hand and have a plan to donate the gifts to a children's hospital or something if people do bring gifts.

  5. Is there some event the grandparents could take the kids too. Like a polar express train ride or a tickets to a play or ballet? That's what we do in our family so the kids don't end up with a bunch of crap. Or a membership to a science or children's museum. These are some things we have done.

  6. I always use full fat plain yogurt because the more fat it has the less sugar it has and the better it tastes. But I have no problem finding plain full fat yogurt, where I am. Glad you found something you like.

  7. Family such as grandparents or cousins only. No friend sleepovers before high school. Honestly, I would wonder about anyone who would want my children spending the night at their house and I have very little interest in other people's children spending the night at mine unless they are nieces or nephews.

  8. I would not incur loans for myself, and would encourage my child to attend a CC or state school before incurring loans but I will help as much as possible. We have put money in a 529 so hopefully that will get them through something.

  9. I don’t know that my son is gifted but he’s quick in math. We have accelerated Right Start and we have finished about two levels a year. I haven’t done all the games. I have done the ones he liked and the ones I felt he needed. We skip the review chapters at the beginning of each book. We are in RS E now about 1/3 though. So far I think it is working fine We had previously tried Singapore and MM and they were torture for my kid.

  10. B and C you could get done in a year. I think it would take longer to do D too. May a year and a half if you worked steadily to finish all three levels at that age. Maybe you would be done sooner but D took us longer than the other levels. I just finished up D and started essentials with my son. I would say start with foundations (essentials seems like a big step up to me). I don't think your son would consider D too babyish even in a year.

  11. We also have issues with our LG refrigerator. Not high end but it was the only one that fit in the space we had. I really want to redo my kitchen so i can get a new refrigerator. For now, I use duck tape to keep the freezer closed. So probably don't go with LG.

  12. I have a large capacity LG that was the most highly rated by Consumer Reports and I'm not impressed with how clean the clothes get and how long each cycle is. Cycles take more than an hour often close to 2. So I might go with something like a speed queen if I had the money to make another purchase.

  13. My 8 yo still doesn't sleep through the night. He has issues though that make it harder. My daughter didn't start start sleeping through the night until age 4 and my husband started going in. My toddler doesn't sleep through the night and I'm sure he won't until someone besides me is getting up with him. And there doesn't seem to be any chance of that happening. People like to blame the parent for children not sleeping through the night but some kids are just harder than others and you can do everything "right" and they still don't sleep.

  14. You can become an EMT without a driver's license. Getting a job as an EMT without a driver's license is going to be an issue. From where I live the first job an EMT might get is medical transport and then move up from there. Where I am, you need to be a paramedic to get an ambulance job. Also where I am an EMT would not often be near fire, but I'm not sure about your son's situation since he would be volunteering with a fire department it might be different.

  15. We've just finished E and have F ordered. We plan to use Geometry as well, and then introduce AOPS.

Oh we are almost half way through E and I rarely see anyone else go that far here! So I'm happy to see someone else going through E. We plan to do F and G if nothing unexpected happens.

We are doing Beast academy 3 as a review and supplement and play on going on to AOPS.
