  1. St Edwards is highly regarded here in Austin-it is where alot of Austinites go for Master Degrees. The area has gone a major change and is pretty hip now. I live here in Austin but have not gone there. I havent heard anything bad about them. I believe are like alot of colleges that have Catholic names but are not Catholic thru and thru like University of Dallas or Ave Maria. Austin is a great town, that part of town has good public transportation, restaurants near by and a very hip feel (unlike the dowdy suburbanite writing this!!).
  2. Not from SA but Austin (just up the road) In SA The Witte museum and it has a fun childrens science center in it, The Alamo and Mission district Six flags River tubing or just up the road in New Braunfels is Schiltterbahn, the worlds best water park. The Riverwalk and boats that go up and down it SA Zoo Outside of SA is a Safari tour, Snake farm, Fredricksburg and on the way to it is LBJ home In Austin is a bunch of things, the Bullock musuem, the LBJ presidential library, the UT library-has a whole section on movie things from Al Pacino-I believe The list could go on and on....have fun in TX
  3. Please include us in the list-sounds like fun and my kids LOVE mail :)
  4. San Antonio is not really near the border---I am not sure how many hours but you have nothing to fear there--we live in Austin (one hour and a few minutes north) and go there frequently for Sea World--what can I say my kids LOVE the big fish! San Antonio has alot to offer as does the Hill Country and Austin. Come on down Y'all! There is alot of history, a nice kids museum, some tourista things in the area but also alot of exploring and fun things in and around SA. I havent heard much about the border but we are not big news watchers. I wouldnt go to Nuevo Laredo but you would drive through some very sparce nothingness for a long time to get there to go to a border town--some people love it--just not my thing. The TX beaches except South Padre are nothing to speak of but from San Antonio it is about an 7 hr drive. If it is the border that is giving you issue not to come--I would not be afraid--we have alot of TX rangers that keep things safe as you can be in a middle big city. Just my 2 cents worth Adrianne I'm not from TX but got here as soon as I could!
