Math hating 7th grade DD: "Inequalities are evil!" Math loving 11th grade DS deadpans: "No, they're not. Inequalities have no standard of morality." LOL!

You wouldn't think just adding a half hour's worth of preschool would kick my butt. But it totally is. Well, that and the 2 high schoolers instead of 1. Wowza, this year is harder than last year was!

My DD is arguing with me that pi is not an unending nonrepeating number. Because, you know, her 6th grade brain and reasoning skills are obviously superior to centuries of mathematical geniuses and thought.

I remember a scuff short story about a group of kids who were stuck on a space ship and were supposed to work on figuring out things like that -- the highest number. Since they were going to be in space for the rest of their lives they had nothing else to do but work on this type of thing hour after hour, day after day.
