  1. We love the card game exact change. It is very similar to Uno, but teaches them to understand money. We also like sink or swim. You can google it for some play mats than all you need are dice. We started with the basics of adding and move up to multiplication.

  3. We are currently using the Animal Encyclopedia. It is a great book full of bright colorful pictures. I used Smithsonian Institution Animals as a supplement. I found that using these two books together has been great. I allow DS6 to pick out which animals that he is interested in. I just picked up the Human Body book this weekend and it looks very similar to the Animal Encyclopedia. I have not been able to get my hands on Green Thumbs.
  4. Spelling Workout. I feel there has been no learning value in this book.
  5. We are currently using Spelling Workout. I just ordered the next book in the series and am regretting it. I would like to change curriculum with my DS6. He has breezed through most of the first book, but I don't feel like he is really learning. From everything I have read I think I would like to take the plunge to AAS. It is a little expensive so I wish I knew it was the best more before investing. Good luck with your son!
  6. Enjoying this roller coaster ride with DH, DS 6 and myself!

  7. I am homeschooling an only. DS is 6 almost 7 and will always be an only. We just started this year with homeschooling. I do worry about the socializing. We get out and about quite a bit, but I worry about the lasting connections. Maybe it is a thing with single children, but DS is definitely a chatterbox!
