That's awesome! Thank you for sharing with us.

My 4 year old boy will do Handwriting Without Tears PreK and random preschool math worksheets before moving to coloring, lacing boards, play with math manipulatives, play with Legos, build with blocks, play with his toys, look at books, use Play-doh, do some random craft, use Starfall, watch a movie on Netflix, play with his 3 year old sister and baby brother...
I'd like to do a little more with him but he's going to wait until the Fall when he's an official K-er.

Sooo romantic! *giggle*

Praying for you and for him. It's hard to think about much less live through. *hugs*

I was torn about getting a Kindle as well. I think I would have waited longer than what I did if it hadn't been gifted to me. A big part of it was that I really enjoy the way books feel in my hands, the way they smell, and well, the whole sensory experience of reading a book. Then I realized, "Uh, duh. I can read e-books on a Kindle without it having to be either/or... I can still buy a paper book or get one from the library." That's when I jumped in full force. ;)

I've never used TT but MUS is wonderful. My daughter is telling me that math is "easy, peasy" and that she can do it with her eyes closed. I've never felt that way about math myself but MUS helps concepts click for me in a way that they never did before. Which is the reason why I chose to go that route with my kids.

Congrats! Boys are awesome.

If I'm not leaving the house, it's layered tank tops and sweats all of the way. If I am leaving the house, I switch into jeans and add a hoodie. So fancy. ;) I have four small children, it is pointless for me to dress up right now.

I picked up the book when my first child was 4. We were researching methods and TWTM came highly recommended. I read the bit on kindergarten and breathed a sigh of relief that what I had put together myself was pretty much what was recommended. Of course, I finished the book and have come back to it for refreshers several times in the past year. I actually had it in my hands before coming to the forums tonight while I sketch out the ideas for my daughter's first grade curriculum this coming Fall. While we likely won't follow it to a T for every one of our children, we do stick very closely to it and definitely support classical education.

Anything phone call related makes me nauseated. Driving slowly across the train tracks too.

I am so sorry this is happening to you guys. It's scary to hear what people do to foster parents. We're just dipping our toes into fostering and I've been nervous about it several times based on other people's complaint stories.

We only do review on a couple of words if the kiddo is having a tough time picking up the concept. Most of the time we ignore it.

I am not regretting it at all. I started out with a smidge more but dropped them. I found they were a waste of our time right now because we got the information through regular play and reading without needing to use a set curriculum for it.

I have no info but I am interested in what other people have on workboxes.

I'm a total e-hoarder as well. I download and then make the decision whether or not to finish the book.

I thought it was disgusting but CPS shouldn't take the kids UNTIL I realized that that was feces on the floor and saw the bathroom pictures. That is horrifying.

Rainy, grey, and gross. Expecting snow tonight.

Rodgers and Hammerstein. Anything pretty much. *lol*
Musicals that aren't so kid appropriate: Rent, Avenue Q, etc.

I voted yes because I still am friends with men that I met before I married my husband. My husband knows the majority of them and likes them all. I recently went to a movie with a male friend I hadn't seen in years but we keep in touch on FB. Not a big deal to me, I'm 100% faithful to my husband and he knows that.
However, I don't see out new men to be friends with. Usually new friends come as a couple.

I am nervous to watch the episode. I had a friend spoil it for me and I was honestly glad that she did because I had four pre-eclamptic pregnancies and was told that another wouldn't turn out as well as the other four did. Preeclampsia is silent, you have no idea that you are sick without regular blood pressure monitoring and urine testing until you are very sick. Also, yes, it can get worse up to 6 weeks after the birth of the baby. I'll be watching with tissues.

Ooh yeah, that's going to be stuck in my head for weeks now.

I haven't seen it look good on anyone yet... I'm still waiting. I'd rather a cardigan or a shrug over the tank top if people are bothered by bare shoulders. I personally flaunt my shoulders shamelessly. ;)

Aww, she is absolutely adorable!

*laughs* I feel for you! It always seems that if someone is stopping by my house randomly, it's on the days that I've decided I'm not getting dressed nor am I cleaning. But on the days that my house is sparkling clean? No one. Of course.
You back over a kid's bike...

Depending on the age of the child, I would pay for it. If it was an older 10+ who knew darn well to keep the bike away from cars, then I might not pay for all of it. If it was a younger child, yes, I would replace it.
