  1. I ate 2 the day I made them ....and I am not sick at all....so...I think we are good. Thanks for all of your thoughts....on both sides.
  2. right....all of the other eggs were fine...and I was going to freeze these for a couple days because we aren't seeing the kids until early next week...that will give us several days to eat a few and see what happens, I guess...
  3. there were 4 eggs left....the first of the 4 were fine...nothing alarming...the last 2...not so much...
  4. I am making cookies today. I made a huge batch and all was fine. But then I went to make another batch...and the 2 eggs I cracked were all funky.....one was dark inside and one was really runny. Needless to say I tossed both of those eggs. But now i am concerned that the previous batch of cookies might be ok...although, I always take a whiff of my eggs before using them and they smelled fine. What do you think? Would you be concerned? The other 2 eggs (bad), didn't have a strong smell either, so I am just not sure...what would do? These cookies are for my college kids and I don't want to make anybody sick.
  5. we have packing cubes....but sort of forget to use them...I will drag those out again. Good idea.
  6. Just curious to your preference when I comes to car/van/SUV traveling. (Not plane). And why do you prefer one or the other? The reason I am asking is we might be taking a trip with college age students and adults in an Suburban (7 bodies total..all boys except 2...me and my daughter) and space will be tight. We do have access to a car top carrier and a cargo carrier for the back of our vehicle. We all currently have smaller soft sided suitcases (the size that is acceptable for carry on in an airplane), which we normally use on our trips...but we are adding 2 college kids on this trip so I didn't know if getting duffle bags might buy us some space or not. Or maybe it won't matter.... thoughts on this please! Thanks.
  7. what are some of the biggest differences? Which one do you like best? If you had to pick one, which would it be? Or is there another option like this out there?? Thanks.
  8. I am sort of picky....so this might be a challenge...but I hope some of you will rise to the challenge and try to help me out. First off, I have Hulu, Netflix and Prime for streaming options. I would be open to some of the month by month (inexpensive) streaming options like Hallmark. I really prefer TV shows over movies. I don't like Sci-Fi or "dark" shows. I have a hard time making myself watch British shows (although I did watch Doc Martin and l liked that ok) I just like light-hearted shows that I don't have to think too hard to follow them. I have watched and enjoyed shows like (not in any particular order, just as they come to my mind) Gilmore Girls, Everwood, Heartland, When Calls the Heart, Good Witch, Army Wives, Private Practice, Friday Night Lights, Heart of Dixie, Parenthood, The Guardian to name some. I also follow shows like New Amsterdam, The Good Doctor, This is Us, Chicago Med... WOW...this list makes it look like all I do is watch TV.....honest I don't but wow.... But until the new seasons start, I am bored in the evenings and I need something to watch. Thanks for being willing to help.
  9. do you have to buy the printer directly from HP to use this service...or can I buy the printer from Amazon or someplace else and then still get the service?
  10. My printer/copier/scanner died and I need to replace it. I am looking for one that does all of those things, including color copies. Of course, I dont' want each copy to cost me an arm and leg per copy based on the ink needed. I also would prefer it not be super big. Any other features are bonus...like automatic 2 sided, self feeding things to copy....that sort of thing. I just need a basic home use machine. Please help me pick one out. Thanks.
  11. If you stream TV shows and movies from another service besides Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, what do you have? Thanks.
  12. My almost 16 year old son wants to have a LOGO for his blacksmithing business that he wants to start....so he can sell the knives he is making. But he needs a LOGO. So, I was wondering if someone here could help me by either telling me a free software we could use or by pointing me in a direction to pay someone a reasonable price to have one made. Thanks.
  13. I went shopping on Amazon and found Pass the Pigs and, Set Walk in the Woods. But I couldn't find Up the River, Sand Castles or The Garden Game. So, that is a start....anybody else have suggestions?
  14. I guess other one....not super expensive as this is for a prize basket for our library and I wanted to include several games. Deer in the headlights is a dice and card game...mostly random, very little strategy...which makes it fun for both kids and adults.
  15. I am looking for some games that younger kids (early elementary) can play, but older kids and adults don't mind playing either. One example I thought about is "deer in the headlights".....so, I am looking for a few other options. Thanks.
  16. Ok, so our situation is that we are going to use our phones as hotspots to run the internet in our home. We are thinking about getting rid of cable and getting You Tube Live instead. I know that it has DVR features, but my question is, will one of our phones have to be close to our TV to run that feature or will it just do it if we have the app on our phones too? One of the reasons we would need the DVR feature is because we aren't home to watch it live and if we need to leave a phone home to activate the feature that might be pretty annoying. So, can anybody here shed some light on that for us? Thanks.
  17. we are android people....but the phones we are all using are pretty basic and old. But these phones will be a serious upgrade.
  18. One thing I didn't mention is that all of us would be getting a huge upgrade on our phones if we did this plan. My phone and my daughters phone (Oldest child) need new phones anyway....because they are acting up. If this changes anything for your opinion.
  19. each of our phones would act as a hot spot...so it wouldn't just be one phone. I will check about a separate hot spot....didn't think about that.
  20. how do I go about verifying the statement. The college my kids are going to is not is a big city...I don't know if that will work or not.
  21. yeah....our cable offers our cable, landline phone and internet (the one that is charging us per GB). If we would keep the teens on tracfone, then when my husband and I weren't home, they wouldn't have internet at all...at home. And my youngest son next fall will need internet to do is online classes. I have a part time job that takes me away from home....and the days I don't work, are often my errand running days and so I am still home often. We could keep the college students on tracfone...and we are considering that for now...that is one thing we are trying to figure out. thanks
  22. according to the sales reps with this company, they said they will not slow down the speed once we hit a certain number of GB. Yeah, the contract thing is a consideration....but we also thought if we would drop our cable and go with DISH or something, we would have a contract there too. And since we dont' have a crystal ball (wish we did), we have no idea what will pop up in the future and whether we will be glad we did this or not. It is so hard to know. thanks.
