  1. We just started subscribing to Hulu Live TV....and I am paying for the "NO ADS" version.....but it sure seems like a lot of shows still have ads....and they are long....like 5 minutes at a time long....is that normal? It's not all shows....but it seems like a lot of the ones I want to watch any way. Maybe I am spoiled...but I am paying for no ads.....or so I thought. Can anybody here shed some light on this for me.... thanks.
  2. Has anybody here used 1-800 contacts or a similar company for contact lens? I have never done this and I was wondering if the contacts are the same quality of those I would get fro my eye doctor? thanks.
  3. so, are you happy with the variety they send you? How much information did you give them in the beginning in the "what is your style?" box? I didn't want to give them too much information, boxing myself in to what I think looks good on me, but on the other hand, if I know I won't wear printed pants of any kind, I didn't want them to send those to me when they could send me something I actually might consider.
  4. I dont' know about the quality of the clothes, but the prices are not nearly $200....but for me, unless I think I might want to wear it for years on end, I don't need expensive clothes...styles change, my size and shape have changed....and I would hate to get rid of a $200 top or dress or whatever because I no longer like how it looks on me. It's much easier to let it go if I paid a fraction of that. Just my opinion.
  5. oh, shoot....I was hoping someone had some thoughts for me....has anybody here use any of these clothes subscription options? Thanks.
  6. shopping in my area is super lame and I have heard good things about subscription options like Stitch Fix. But I can't afford Stitch Fix, so I started looking around at other options and I came across Nadine West. After looking at the site, and several You Tube videos, it looks good...but I just wanted to ask here and see if anybody has had any experience with this company or any others. Thanks.
  7. really? a button fly is good for that? that is interesting. I always thought of those as annoying...might have to try those out.
  8. NO....don't say that!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. wow...this is way more complicated than I ever thought....maybe I will just paint everything white....UGH!!!! 😀
  10. I need to find some great blue jeans...and right now, not being able to try clothes on in most stores is annoying.... The biggest issue I have is finding jeans with some tummy control. Oh, I can't afford expensive jeans...no matter how great they are.... Any suggestions??? thanks.
  11. I have not done a lot of painting...how does one pick a "neutral gray". What colors do I want to be mixed to make the gray? My son said he wanted a gray that looks sort of "mechanical"....so is that possible?
  12. no worries....my kid's room are NOT spotless by any means.... :)
  13. I like that look...but we would have to get 3 colors....because the wall we are covering is a bright yellow and blue (my older son was in this room first and he is a big Michigan Wolverines fan....
  14. the more I think about this idea, the more I like it....I was worried about trying to match wall color with comforter and curtains....if I did this, I won't have to.... I knew you guys would come through....plus, I know he would love to find some cool pictures or silhouettes of forging things (anvils, hammers etc) to put on his wall...framed in a red frame maybe.....and it would look good on a gray wall...hmmm...now my mind is racing with ideas. If I go with this...help me with decor....any ideas??
  15. would love to see pictures of your son's room
  16. I like that idea....hmmmm thanks. That satisfies the advice of Stormy too.
  17. I have a 16 year old son who wants to "grow his room up"....and I have looked on Pinterest and nothing is really striking him as a good idea. He thinks he wants gray and red to be his colors....but beyond that we aren't sure. We don't know if doing walls half one color and the other half the other (and if so, does the red go on top or bottom) or do we do full walls making one or two accents....(That is what his brother did)... OR is there another idea that we just don't know about. My son isn't into sports or a certain team....so that is out. Actually he is more into forging and science....but that doesn't lend itself well to room decor. If you have pictures to show me or ideas to share, I am all ears...and eyes. 😊 thanks for your help!
  18. We are dropping Netflix and so we are looking for other streaming options. We do have Hulu too, but if we drop it too and just have You Tube TV, can we watch about the same sort of stuff...TV shows, movies, documentaries etc on You Tube...or not? Or is there another option we can consider? Thanks.
  19. so all of these less than positive experiences make me wonder...are there just not enough people willing to take this job that they hire anybody? And why these people (especially if their reputation is poor) even keep this job. Wow....so sad.
  20. this is how is should be. In most cases the kids are very nervous and a grumpy tester does not help that. Our testers didn't even tell the kids if they passed or failed until they got out of their car, walked back to the building and were given their paper work...or not. The paperwork told the kids what they did wrong, not the grumpy tester. This almost wants to make me do this job some day just so I can allow some kids to have a better experience than my kids (and many of your kids) did . I am sure there is a level of stress...but I would think most of that is being produced from the tester themselves. Thanks for making me feel like I am not alone in my experience.
  21. I totally get the small talk DURING the test is not a good thing...but friendliness before and after the test would have been nice. Oh well, it's all over and he passed....but I was just curious.
  22. I have just successfully had my 3rd and last kid get their drivers license as of this morning. But I must ask this question because I am not sure if it's just me, or my kids or the area that we live in (rural Nebraska), but all 3 have had a different person take them out for their test (over the course of about 4 years) and each time the person was grumpy, not friendly, didn't put my nervous kids at ease at all. Now, I know that driving is a HUGE responsibility and it's not their job to be friends with my kids, but really? The way these people have acted and talked (both male and female) have done nothing to help my kids relax and enjoy the experience. So, maybe I am missing something here....but I just had to ask. Do you have to be a grump, not friendly person to have this job? Just asking. Thanks
