  1. Is it only for books or can we post for musical instruments too? Thanks for the help:001_smile:

  3. Our last golden retriever had allergies that resulted in ear infections. I once changed her to Beneful and she had such severe reactions that it took months to get rid of the ear infections. Obviously not a cost saver in the long run. We also had to put her down at 10.5 due to cancer. We fed her Eukanuba which at the time we thought was quality but based on the dog food analysis that was previously posted it is very poor quality. Our new golden is fed Wellness Core which I buy from Pet Supply Plus or Complete Petmart. I equate the lower end foods with living on Big Macs. Some people will live to a ripe old age regardless of diet just based on genetics while others are more susceptible and will have ill health as a result. Also the source of the meat products in the lower end products can be of poor quality. That said, my dog has a better diet than I do since I still eat too many sweets ;) BTW, thanks for adopting the 2 dogs:001_smile: No matter what you feed them, I am sure the loving home you are providing is the most important thing to them. Enjoy your years together! Gina
  4. Since we go to a place close to the Quebec border I am guessing I would want to learn Quebec French. From what I read about Acadian French I don't think it applies unless there is a big Acadian French speaking population in Northern Ontario. I hope I don't have to learn 2 different versions of French, I can't get a grasp on one:001_huh: We do have the Junior version of the Easy French but I was not sure if it is Canadian/Quebec French. I just want to be able to communicate regardless of the accent but my dh wants the authentic accent for the area. I have just started using The Easy French and it is by far the easiest to understand (now if I could only make those French sounds). I am so glad it is the dialect we want. Any other resources would be great because we really want to immerse in our French. Thanks for the info so far I can use all the help I can get:bigear: gina
  5. We want to learn to speak French but want to learn the Canadian French, not the French of France. Does anyone, especially those of you in Quebec, know of a good phonics program to use, and a full curriculum for learning to speak? Is there a significant difference between the Canadian French and the French of France? If so what is the difference? Any input about learning Canadian French would be very helpful. We are really struggling with the pronunciation. When I look at a word it is not pronounced anything like what I would expect so I really want to learn the phonics rules too. Thanks:001_smile: Gina
  6. This site is excellent-exactly what I am looking for :D Now if I could just find it as a book. There is way too much to print but maybe just the relevant ones and all the vit/minerals would not be too much. Thanks for the other links and books I still have to check those out too. Gina
  7. I don't have the Laurel's cookbook but will have check the ones I do have. Thanks for the suggestion:001_smile: I thought that was you, Elizabeth-I have seen a "few" of your posts. LOL
  8. My 8 yo dd continually asks what certain foods do for you (the ones that I tell them are healthy and they have to eat:001_smile:). I am looking for a resource that lists all of the vitamins and minerals, their function for the body, and the foods that contain them. I would also like to find a VERY comprehensive list of foods with the specific vitamins, minerals, and what they do for you. Kind of a reverse of the vitamins/minerals. I prefer a book, but a good website will do too. I am not looking for alot of details just a good summary that she can understand and reference with help if needed. Thanks! Gina
  9. My dh worked in the Missing and Exploited Children's unit with the police dept and after what he saw there our family rule is they are NEVER allowed to stay at a friend's house! We do allow immediate family but now everyone is so far away we all stay the night. We have a friend who has a "pretend sleepover" every year in which the girls play games, watch a movie, eat and have snacks then go home around bedtime. Everyone is just as happy :001_smile:
