Jane, I love the mitten story. That is so cool ♥

I started crocheting a popcorn garland - it is a garland that looks like popcorn strung on a string. I haven't gotten too far with it but it is looking cute.

I really need to get cranking on some scarves though. I promised a friend last year that I would make some for her - she has a street ministry and hands out scarves and hats at Christmastime.

Despair over stray dog that still has not been claimed - decided I am done with the dog aka escape artist , and took him to the shelter. Didn't want to do it, but I was running out of options.

  4. I didn't know you had started a new thread, PrincessMommy.

I crocheted a couple more ruffle scarves, and I'm half-way done with a regular scarf. Oh, and I also crocheted another set of beanbags (forgot one nephew earlier - oops!)

I also practiced making a hand-molded beeswax candle. It came out OK. I'm not thrilled with it, but I'll be doing more tomorrow with my 4-H group, so we'll see how those go.

  5. Yay, Jean, I'm glad you're enjoying your washer! It's so fast, isn't it, compared to the front-loaders?

  8. My parents are both deceased. My youngest sister just moved back to my town so I get to see her much more often now. My other sister lives a few hours away and we visit her about 3 times a year.

DH's parents, two sisters and one brother all live close by and we see them frequently. We tend to be in and out of each other's houses a lot. His other sister and brother live further so we see them when they come for visits, usually at least once a year.

  10. Thanks, Amy. Birthday girl is the only one who isn't sick, so it's kind of a bummer for her. DH promised her doughnuts for breakfast though, so she is happy. I'm glad your mom is doing a bit better. Praying for you.

    Cookies are done and bagged.

    Laundry is done.

I guess I will do the tub tomorrow. I'm pooped.

Amy, :grouphug: and prayers for you and your mom

My plans are thrown for a bit of a loop since I have yet another child down sick today. We are cancelling dd's birthday party for tomorrow since we don't want to spread the germs :(

Housecleaning is put on hold till people are feeling better.

I'm still baking cupcakes and cookies for Christmas Around the World tomorrow.

  14. My 13 and 11 are mainly responsible for pet care: feeding the goldfish, cats and rabbit, and cleaning the rabbit cage, and changing the water in the fish tank as needed. They also help a lot with the laundry. I sort, but they run the machine, switch the loads, and unload. They fold and put away their own clothes.

They also help with dusting, sweeping, and vacuuming, and tidying up around the house as needed.
