  1. It depends. Last time we left a chruch we had been there about a year...

We simply quit attending and no one from the church every called to follow up, even though we had been going on a regular basis for a year. Which kind of cemented our reasons for leaving..

Officially, I don't know, but it seemed loyalties stayed with the church for many people and our friendship didn't continue once we left.

this is what happened to us, but in a not nice way

  2. Living with chronic pain turned me, Tigger, into a person I couldn't recognize. You fold into yourself. Even trying to be sweet and nice, the words come out sharp. You're so self absorbed--just dealing moment to moment with the pain, that you have nothing else to give anyone.

That said, I think counseling is on order.

:iagree: yes, your story sounds very similar to a friend of mine. It didn't get better until the hubby switched drs AND the started counseling thru a church. took some months, but so much better now.

  3. Appeal it. In writing. When I was admitted to a hospital my insurance (Kaiser) didn't take because I was in another state, I had to have emergency surgery. Kaiser fought me. They wanted me to fly back to my home state. Ha! Yea right ....All the darn office managers from the various drs threatened to ruin our credit, said pay it and they'd reimburse me, blah blah blah.

I kept excellent records, called once a month (all TWELVE of them), and sent copies of my correspondence with my insurance to all the office managers. Really p***ed them off too. :D

    Nine months later, I won.

  4. I'll just throw this out there but it might not be applicable to you. I found when I was pregnant the doctors would kind of brush me off as a pregnant, emotional female which I was. I would get so frustrated with feeling I was not being heard. One day my dh happened to be along, saw what was happening and had a heart to heart talk with the doctor to set the record straight. Sometimes you need an advocate especially when you you are feeling like you are at deaths door. I will be forever grateful for my dh stepping in when he did. :grouphug:

    :iagree:

  5. IME bullying can be a lot worse at private schools. Our local middle school really cracks down hard on bullying (when informed by a student or parent), I've heard from at least three people who had decent experiences dealing with the issues in the public ms. However, my family's experience dealing with bullies in private school was very bad. I think some schools are afraid to lose tuition from bullies so they don't push hard to stop it. I've also witnessed bullying in a Christian coop.

    :iagree:
