  1. I plan on learning with them--I don't know how it would work if I didn't! This is only our second year hs'ing and I have already learned a ton! Thanks for the suggestions, the notebook would esp. be great :)
  2. We have a dairy and there is a lot of Spanish speakers around...one of the main reasons I want them to learn!
  3. I am really curious about what the thoughts on teaching a foreign language to younger students is? Are you teaching your kids one right now? I would love to start Spanish, but don't know if my kids are too young--we have a 2nd grader and one in K. The thought of teaching this is intimidating to me, so if I am honest I haven't even looked at any cirriculum yet! I was just wondering if anyone had some solid advice :) Thanks!
  4. I am almost positive that these are the Classical Conversations new timeline cards--if you were thinking that $40 was too much, then these are probably out of your price range! I know that there are 5 sets, grouped together in their appropriate time frames, and I think that they are $24 for each set...you could look at the website to be sure because I really can't remember the actual price! I know that they come already laminated--hope this helps!
  5. I began to search the forums just to buy specific curricula, and have already purchased a number of things. I don't know about anyone else, but I find it hard to reach the 50 post mark! I read through the forums from time to time, and I find that someone else has already responded with what I want to say. I don't want to post just to reach the 50 mark, I want to be helpful if I can--does that make sense? I know that I cannot speak for everyone who doesn't have a lot of posts, but it has been helpful to have people trust me enough to sell to me :)
  6. Have you ever hear of Lean for Life? It's a book, and basically a how-to, with a simple plan that is already laid out for you. You just follow along, writing anything that goes into your mouth down! It even gives you a ton of recipes in the book :)
  7. We are doing Phonics Road level 1, but are wanting to do an accelerated pace...I am having trouble coming up with a schedule. Has anyone accelerated their pace? If so, how did it work for you??? Sierra
  8. On top of all of the other really great advice, I was just wondering if you had to have one on one time with the older two boys? I do think it's really important to have a time set aside for her schooling, and I agree that it doesn't have to be anything but simple playtime. Maybe while you are having one on one instruction time with the your 8.5 year old, you could have your other son do something one on one with your daughter--and then vicsa versa (sp?). That way she would be getting a few blocks of time throughout the day, and not doing so much on her own. Just a thought!
