Try looking here for Netflix's library:
For Hulu+, you can sign up for a free week to see what they offer, but Netflix's offerings in the documentary genre are VASTLY superior to Hulu's.
I find that Netflix is more of a "Hm, let's see what's on here that I might like to watch" service than a "I really hope they have this movie on Instant Watch!" service. If you will regularly be looking for specific things, you probably won't be happy. Or you could do the Instant Watch plan + the 1 DVD at a time plan. We find that suits our needs just fine.
HTH!

Co-ops are extensions of homeschooling. Every parent wants what they feel is best for their child. Therefore, the group dynamic is clouded by individual wants and needs.
It is emulating a school setting without the hierarchy of a school board, teachers, and such that can be disciplined and let go if needed. In co-ops, you pretty much either stay and tough it out or leave and find something else to fill that social/academic need.
That is why I think co-ops get crazy. I like doing a co-op for my kids to have friends and get social opportunities. I hate certain aspects though for myself.
Yes.
I don't know, but there must be a colorless, odorless gas that permeates the atmosphere and causes everyone to become high-maintenance.:lol::lol: Yes, this too.
I don't know how the leader of our co-op hasn't quit in exhaustion at some point over the past year.

I adore it. Dh hates it. Said I look like a lesbian. I told him that if by "lesbian" he meant "someone not sleeping with him that night" then he was absolutely correct.
:lol::lol::lol:
This thread is boggling my mind.

I just remember Ham (Hamm?) and that was enough to turn me off.
They've got Ham coming in next year? That's a turnabout. Disappointing :(
ETA: Doesn't look like there will even be a Northeast convention next year?! Or maybe it's just that nothing's confirmed yet?

Jealous! I didn't make it to our local Great HS Convention to see her like I'd hoped to this year. She's a wonderful speaker for sure.

We all got sick with a yucky cold a week or so ago, and since then, I feel like my rear end is made of stone. I can't get motivated to do anything or go anywhere. We've canceled outings (or taken advantage of cancellations to just stay home), I'm having a hard functioning, my nose is always buried in a book or the computer, and I can't seem to shake it off. The kids are going stir crazy, and while I started out indulging myself in the hope that I just needed some time to bounce back, but there's not much bounce happening right now. We're about to head into a very busy week (playdates, amusement park, party, etc.), and I'm absolutely dreading it. I'm similarly dreading the beginning of the school year and all the planning and renewed running around that will come with it.
I do know that I start to feel like this toward the end of summer, because the heat is very hard on me (DH has the same problem in the dead of winter), but I need to find my bootstraps or something
WWYD with this? If anyone has any extra energy to send over, I'd appreciate it!

What absolutely gorgeous babies :001_wub: Thank you for letting us share your experience. I'm so glad those nurses were right too :grouphug:

OK, this thread just confirms for me that I was right to give all those boxes of decluttered stuff to Goodwill last week! :001_huh:
Oh. My. Word.I have never had a garage sale. I have toomanypeoplearoundmephobia.
Right there with ya, sister.
We helped organize a church yard sale early in our marriage. Someone donated a toilet plunger. We probably should have just tossed it, but the other organizer put a 10c sticker on it. No one bought it.:lol::lol::lol: Someone posted a used toilet brush on our Freecycle loop last week. They said it still worked, it just needed to be cleaned. Um, yeah, I'll be right over!
Would you eat veggies from the garden that are only half good?

This morning I picked our first, beautiful, perfect Rutgers tomato—only to find a hole on the other side. I cut away the hole to find a teeny-weeny resident slug :ack2: The slug had done enough damage that I would have had to cut away a good bit of the tomato, but I would probably have had more than half left to serve (even assuming I cut pretty deeply around the hole to have a wide slug buffer). Oldest DD was adamant that I throw the entire thing away, but my mom was like, "You could totally have eaten the rest of that tomato!"
We also picked a pumpkin that had gone rotten underneath without our realizing it. Again, I could possibly have salvaged half of that pumpkin. But...
WWYD? Do you typically cut away the yucky/buggy parts and use the rest, or do you chuck the whole thing? (And yes, it's totally a first-world problem, I know—I am grateful that I even have the luxury of asking this question.)
