  1. Honestly, you have no idea what you're talking about. Queen Elizabeth works every day for the good of her people. She keeps long hours and meets with people on many levels. I admire and respect her so much after doing some of my own research through reading and watching documentaries. Yes, there are aristocrats and royalty that don't work and earn their keep, so to speak, but not all are like that. I suggest that you get some good biographies and do some reading.

:iagree: She also volunteered with the Auxiliary Territorial Service, where she was trained to drive and repair heavy transport vehicles during WWII

    Prince Charles got a 2.II degree at university. That's a low-side-of-average mark.

Prince William is an air-sea rescue helicopter pilot. I can't see how one would hand out un-earned plaudits to someone in that job.

Goodness, this thread is making me come over all royalist this morning. I must bring out the flags.

My hat is seriously off to you moms of more than one. I'm in awe of your multitasking!

  3. I guess the ability to do anything meaningful and worthwhile is directly tied to being certified by a third party.

When I get a certificate, then I am born and exist. When I get a certificate then I am married. When I get a license, then I am a driver. When I get a passport, then I am a traveler. When I get a certificate, then I am educated.

What a weird society we have created.

    Well said!

  4. I'll add Cultural References for the unsocialized. :D

Ds and I spent some time yesterday watching John Belushi as a Samurai. Hilarious!

We will cover all the basics, like Monty Python, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Galaxy Quest, Numberwang, and Princess Bride.

An optional unit study will be offered on James Bond, Jason Bourne, and Transformers, and Aliens.

Debate skills will be honed through a robust dialogue over which is better Star Wars or Star Trek. Star Wars enthusiasts will have to write a 5 page document on which order the series should be viewed in. Star Trek enthusiasts will write on which Captain and which series was the best. Weaponry will not be allowed at debate sessions.

Students who misbehave will be forced to watch Twilight over and over.

    YES!

I have a few short classes in mind.

"Why Moms of teens probably don't need curriculum recommendations from you, whose oldest is 4."

"Why 'This curriculum is awesome. We have used it for 2 months and my children are really enjoying it. I wish a few things were different, but it's working.' is NOT(I repeat NOT) a helpful curriculum review."

"Blogs and Pinterest are very important research and planning tools: How to convince your husband."

This thread is a healthy dose of laughter :)
