  1. Hello, My daughter is interested in doing ACE's physical science next year. I am wondering if anyone has used this course along with the DVDs. If so what was your experience? I have seen good things about their Biology course, but cannot find anything about the Physical Science course. We have not used ACE before, but my dd learns well with visual resources. If you have used this please share your experience. Especially what you thought of the DVDs. Did they hold your students attention? Were they dry and boring or entertaining? Thank you so much for you help :001_smile:
  2. I would have never thought of that. Thank you. My son is also hearing impaired, so this might be a great possible resource.
  3. Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. I don't feel so lost on where to begin now. I already got the book suggested from the library. :grouphug:
  4. I would like to know where to go to have my son tested for Aspergers. He is ADHD and has seen a children's psychiatrist for this for several years. I have mentioned things over the years to her and I get oh that is nothing, he will outgrow it, or let's try a different prescription. As he is getting older the issues are getting more pronounced and my gut is telling me something more than ADHD is going on. The problem I have now is where to go from here to seek help for him. From what I have read I need to find a child psychiatrist that specializes in Autism disorders? I have looked and cannot find any in my area. Any suggestions on where to look, or what specialist to seek would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help :)
  5. I just want to recommend Ragdolls or Ragamuffins. I have grown up with cats and have had many different breeds. We now have a Ragdoll and a Ragamuffin. They are the most affectionate cats that I have ever had. They greet us at the door and are always around us. When we do school, they are asleep on the extra chairs or busy checking out what we are doing. They love the kids and even our Collie. Getting a new furry baby is always lots of fun. :) Consider doing some research to find the best breed fit for your family. Even if you rescue a shelter kitty, knowing characteristics of breeds can help you in your decision.
  6. You're welcome. I hope it will help you out. We will be starting mid August. I am looking forward to it.

  7. Just wanted to say thanks for the MFW Exp-1850 list you put in the MFW Social Group! We're starting MFW in September!

  8. Hi, I have it saved on my computer. If you pm me your email, I will try to email it to you. It will be a pretty large file though as there are 79 pages :)
  9. We are using it this year and are enjoying it a lot. We love MOH. I think your kids are the perfect ages for the program.
  10. Hi Apryl, Thank you for your response. I hope you don't mind, I have a few more questions for you, since you are using this. Are you following the schedule in IG for this? I am thinking of buying just the Bible portion and found out from Sonlight's website, I would have to buy the IG to have the schedule for this. Do you know if any of the books have discussion questions in them? Do you think it is worth buying the IG, just for the Bible portion? Thank you in advance :)
  11. Hello, We are using this program. My dd is using B1 in the workbook format. My ds has the A1 software. I had to sit with him the first time we used this. We learned how to use the program together. After that, he has been able to do this on his own. I have to say, he asks to do this on many days. It doesn't seem like "work" to him. He loves that while he is doing the activities it has him building a city with castles. He can then earn different landscape for the castle. He gets so excited when he gets a new castle unlocked. I think if you are looking for a fun way to introduce latin root words, this is a great program. We also got the Editor in chief software program. Neither one of my dc like to use that one
  12. Hi, Just bumping this thread and hoping someone will have some feedback. I am also considering this for next year :)
  13. Hi Angela, We are using WP QMA this year. Mine are 14, and 12. This program uses MOH 2 as its spine. This goes into depth about church history. We love it, but I think a 2nd grader would not understand a lot if it. I think a lot of the crafts and hands on also might be difficult. There are not a lot of picture books either to keep the younger ones attention. I have heard great things about SOTW for younger kids. IMHO, I would wait and do QMA during the second cycle through history. Hope that helps :)
  14. Congrats on the new furry baby. We have 2 ragdoll girls. They are a year and a half and both are around 15 pounds and growing. They are a lot of fun. They act more like dogs than cats. They greet us at the door upon coming home, and follow us from room to room. When we do school one is in an empty chair and the other on the table hanging out with us. I am sure you will enjoy your ragdoll a lot. We cannot imagine life without them :001_smile:
