  1. No not at all.. They start with the basics.. like name an object, now name 2 things that describe that object, now tell who's object it is, now... I don't know how to explain it well without running to grab the book, but my son, the super reluctant writer, was able to work mostly independantly (he is 11, and the books after level 2 are written to the student, he was doing level 3), and he didn't complain too much (mostly because the way it's broken down they don't realize that they are doing as much as they are ;) )
  2. I hadn't been there in a while.. I'm excited to see he has 2 more levels out! I wonder if he plans on going on to middle school levels... hmmmmm maybe I should email him ;)
  3. Not sure if it will help you but it's free ;) http://www.zaner-bloser.com/spellingconnections/practice-pages.html
  4. Is this the one you want? http://www.eequalsmcq.com/
  5. My only thoughts would be Cozy Grammar... but it would bore my son to tears. He LOVED TT though (sadly he is currently in PS and not using it right now :( )
  6. I'm not sure if you are talking about REAL Science Odyssey or if you mean Real Science 4 Kids. I have used RSO Chemistry and my son liked it alot, he was older (5th grade). Here is another one for you to consider...http://www.mcruffy.com/1Sc.htm I really like this one alot. It covers more than just one topic a year... which I like way better than devoting a whole year to biology and then one to chemistry, etc
  7. I like both the Family Math and Family Math 2, both of these would have plenty of games to use with your DD, and would have plenty to grow with her.. really I don't think you can go wrong buying both of these books. We also have found lots of fun games in Mega Fun Math Games, but I think this is mostly on higher levels.
  8. What about www.ablesideonline.org, www.simplycharlottemason.com, or www.charlottemasonhelp.com? These are all Charlotte Mason style which is somewhat of a Christian slant, but you can always skip the Bible and faith based parts and even suppliment your own character quality lessons if you feel you need to.
