I have a 14 year that needs more help with her grammar / writing.. she started The American School a month ago and is doing great but she needs extra work with those 2.. Any suggestions on what books would be good for her? Thanks Irene

for my dd11 and ds 5 info!! prefer secular but not a must dd is weak in spelling and writing loves history she is doing great in math w/ teaching tesxtbook so I only need help for all othe subjects,,lol! I love the look of Sonlight but would like to find something secular and not so $$.. my 5 year old wants to learn but has the attention span of a flea,,lol. likes things taught in more a game or story telling way! He is the crawl on the table while teaching type boy!! the last 2 years I have wasted a load of money on stuff that just didn't work or maybe it was just me!!! we did time4 learning off and on for 2 years due to me being bed ridden for almost 8 months while pregnant.. Bought a 6th grade preboxed curriculum last year from timberdoodle and that was a big flop so went back to time4learning but I feel that isnt enough! I have been on the fence w/ sonlight. I have an 11 dd and 5ds can someone please give me an example of a sonlight day? sonlight pros and cons? can i get what i need from them except readers,,,, those i can get from library? any help would be great. thanks Irene

My daughter now 11 has always been homeschooled.. For the first 3 years we used calvert and I loved it.. We switched to my own curriculum because Calvert was just to $$$. Almost 2 years ago I got pregnant again and was very, very sick for 8 months.. To make it easier I signed her up for Time4learning since I couldn't spend much time w/ school prep. We continued it this year only because I started a part time home job but now I feel like it was the wrong choice.. I like Time4learning but I feel she isn't doing enough or maybe it is just the fact that I don't have a million books in front of us. I feel like we have gotten lost and I don't know how to find our way. I want to redo our curriculum now and catch up by doing school through summer but the prob is I just don't know where to start... I don't want to spend big bucks but I need something pretty much layed out for us.... WHat I liked about Calvert was it had everything.... Her weakness is spelling and writing.. I think her big prob with writing is laziness!! She loves History and Science I also have one getting ready to start K and not sure where to start for him.. please any help to get us back on track would be great. thanks Irene
