  1. I am yet to see any program that makes any miraculous changes for my son who has severe auditory processing disorder and his academic progress is hugely impacted due to it. . I would be very happy with NeuroNet even if the changes are subtle. I have done many programs but so far none has been given us big gains.
  2. Thanks a lot. I am doing the online training now and want to implement it for my 13 yrs old son. He is relatively compliant, so hopefully we will survive. I will let you know if I have any question.
  3. Can someone who has tried Neuronet for their kids , please share the experience? thanks Mjayal
  4. My son is DXed with PANDAS. We have done IVIG and long term antibiotics. Still do maintenance antibiotics dose. Let me know if you have any question. Meenakshi
  5. Hi T How much are you asking for it? A friend of mine was looking for it. Thanks Meenakshi
  6. My son has PANDAS and we are supposed to be on maintenance dose of antibiotics, even if we don't have OCD or any other PANDAS symptoms. I stopped antibiotics and PANDAS returned big way after my son was exposed to strep. This time, for first time in his life, he had tics and pretty bad tics. We did clonodine, on second day, all my son wanted to do was sleep, so we had to stop that. We did one round of augmentin and tics went away. We work with DAN doc. Meenakshi
  7. Please google PANDAS. Its a medical condition that triggers OCD in kids. My son's OCD was controlled by medical intervention. Meenakshi
  8. I have done for my son 2 times. One time costs 6000$. They try to hit it from all sides, they will put the kid on rotation diet, would do a compounded supplements on basis of kid's nutritional deficiencies, along with their OT exercises and academic stuff. They do a pre and post testing. After first round, the post test showed improvements but we didn't see anything, the center told us that all the changes were made in fixing the gaps he had in his sensory integration, so we must go for another another round to see the real changes. We did another round, saw nothing. Though the post test showed improvement.
  9. My son struggled with phonics. We taught him reading by sight words cards. After he learned to read, he understood phonics later on his own. For lot of kids learning phonics is not easy and it could be very frustrating. So NACD ( http://www.nacd.org) tells not to focus on that and start teaching reading with sight words. Meenakshi
  10. We plan to start homeschooling from tomorrow. My son 11yrs old attends a public school and we decided not to pull him from till today, so that he could write STAAR tests while we get things ready at home. My son is developmentally delayed and has low auditory processing. He didn't start talking till almost 6.5 yrs of age. My reasons for homeschooling is that my son has made no academic gains at all and school continues to have very low expectations, the methods they are using to teach him are not working. He is partly main-streamed, partly in sp education class. My son hates home schooling. He is not willing to stay at home. He would miss the structured school schedule and the variety of things he gets to do at school. Can I please get some tips for convincing him, making homeschooling a success. I am excited about the progress he is going to make, but am scared as well same time. Thanks in advance. I look forward to learning a lot here. Meenakshi
