  1. Hi y'all!! Have any of you heard of The Classical Learning Resource Center? One of the teachers attends my church and she was telling me about it. She said most of  the instructors and staff are Eastern Orthodox. In fact, the Christian studies classes are taught from an Orthodox perspective.

Have your kids taken any of the classes? I am especially interested in the Christian Studies. I am considering enrolling my son in Kolbe Academy's homeschool program next year for high school. However, I would not want to use their theology courses. I'd appreciate any reviews you may have.

    Thanks!

  2. Hugs to you, dear mama. My husband and I lost our almost adopted, foster kids due to the same reason. It changed our lives and we never fostered again. I will pray everything works out for y'all and that Squishy gets to stay with y'all, who obviously love him very much and are his family.

  3. We used CLE math through sixth grade. This year, seventh grade, we are using Derek Owens pre algebra. My son enjoys it very m much. The first chapter was review and the second chapter was mostly review. We are just finishing it up. I definitely feel CLE prepared him well for it.

  4. Hugs!! Also... Take a breath. You haven't even been to Liturgy yet. You don't have to face everything all at once. :)

Yes, I am breathing much better. lol I am reading Facing East, and she brought it up. It made me feel overwhelmed. We will start going to Liturgy on the 28th. I am so excited.  :)

  5. Thank you all so much. This group is so amazing. You are all so gracious and kind to each other. I have had most of my questions answered just by searching this forum. I am thankful that my husband and I are on this journey together; and I am thankful for this forum and all of you. As for confession, I am no longer afraid of being rejected, but I am still terrified to tell. That is a long ways away, though, and much prayer will be said in the interim.

  6. Hi all! I am new to the group and should probably introduce myself first, but right now I am so sad I just want to ask about this. When you make your first confession before Chrismation, is there anything a person has done that could be bad enough to not be allowed to be received into the Church? This sounds so dumb writing it out, as I know Jesus died for those sins. But I can't stop crying because I was/am the worse kind of wretched person. I can't imagine confessing and having to say some of this stuff out loud, in front of God. I have asked God for forgiveness in the typical Protestant way of going straight to Him, and even though I know I am( or will be forgiven), I feel such shame still.

We haven't even been to a liturgy yet, and I am already freaking out. Any words of wisdom?

  7. I'm no help because I like the hairstyle you already have. It's so wavy and pretty. Mine just hangs there. lol Of the three pics, I like the last one best. Have you had bangs before? If you aren't used to them, you may hate them because they are in your face all the time.
