  1. I know there are lots of families who live in small homes. While ours isn't super small it feels it sometimes. We are a family of 5... have 1400 sq ft home....3 bedrooms, NO dining room, only a eat in kitchen, LR, bathrooms. No basement, NO bonus room, NO garage.....no extra room for storage so I have everything stuck here and there.

Curious what size home you have, family size and things you do to make it work without feeling so cramped and cluttered?

  2. if you don't mind a chemical solution go and get CUTTER (brand name) Mosquito control...I think it comes in a blue bottle. You attach your hose to it and spray. It works WONDERS...no joke. Good for about 2 weeks in heavy mosquito season. We had a TERRIBLE mosquito problem to the point we could not bare to go outside.....UNTIL we found that wonderful spray. I prefer NOT to use chemicals but it was getting ridiculous.

  3. I do have dreams and yes I feel that PAIN as well.....my youngest is 5 1/2...had a tubal ligation when she was born. I am glad to be done having c-sections (4) but I have regrets DAILY. My heart just aches at times. Some days I cry. I just visited my friend who just had her 6th child....he is 9 weeks old. It was very hard for me to go see them but I am truly happy for her.

I doubt this longing for another baby will ever go away.....

  4. We LOVE MFW for the history cycle....MFW-K is fine....honestly I think MFW1st is somewhat boring.

I really don't want to repeat it with my DD and if I am not going to use MFW 1st...why use MFWK...KWIM?

I really love the feel and look of HOD.....even though I wouldn't chose it over MFW for the history cycle I am seriously considering it for K and 1st.

  5. Has anyone used HOD for their younger children..prek,k and 1st but switched over to MFW afterwards (2nd and up)?

I have used MFWK and really enjoyed it but I also am still intrigued by the beauty of HOD...especially for my DD. No matter which I use I will have to purchase it because I sold my MFWK when I was done with it (Why? I don't know)

Just curious if anyone on these boards has used MFWK before for one child but used HOD instead for another child.

  6. we will have full use of the stove/oven in the camper.....I imagine we will need some easy meals for those days we go off somewhere. This place has a pool, basketball courts so we will stay put a lot of the time. mainly a time to RELAX and enjoy each other WITHOUT the phone, tv, computer and all the other daily interruptions.

  7. It takes him FOREVER to get any school work done:glare: He dawdles, walks around, piddles etc.......and when I call him back to it he gets ANGRY:glare: because I say anything.

We go through this almost DAILY. He has many days he works into the evening to get it done....which he doesn't like BUT it seems to not make a difference.

NOTHING I do makes a difference. I am so beyond FRUSTRATED with him. He can literally take 2 hours on a math assingment that should ONLY take him 45 minutes at MOST. It is NOT too difficult either.

He BALKS at anything that takes too much effort:confused:

Thanks for letting me VENT...now anyone have any words of wisdom?????????

  8. how did you change things within the curriculum itself? What did you add? Take away?

I am trying to get my "ducks in a row" so I can look at everything I need to at the NC conference this weekend.

We are going to be on our4th year with MFW and will be using RTR for the upcoming year with my 2nd and 6th grader.

  9. I used to watch J&K but it became VERY obvious that she wanted fame and fortune over anything else.

I mean they are NOT the only family with multiples. Remember the Dilley's??? They were given things but NEVER lost who they were and never forgot what their job was all about..."taking care of their children"

There were also the McCauley sextuplets?? Many more multiple families as well that have been in the spotlight for a short amount of time...but none to this degree as J&k.

I just hope they see what they have done to their family......but I don't think things will ever be normal for them again unless they totally remove themselves from the public eye. It's sad...really sad.
