  1. Hi there! A friend has offered to sell me her Latin for Children A, specifically, the 3 DVDs and chant CD, and the student text and activity book. The DVDs are copywrite 2003 and the vocab is 2005. On the website it looks like there should be two chant cds. The chant cd label says Vocabulary, "Classical Pronunciation tracks 2-25" and "Ecclesiastical Pronunciation tracks 27-50"... Does anyone know the difference in these and the current editions ? thanks genet
  2. Ah-hah! I see. As you can see, we are new to CC. In fact, we have the first program for our state starting here this fall. Bt it looks like a good resource. I could not find this info online on the CC site. So thank you for answering my probably dumb ? genet
  3. Hi all! Quick ? I was wondering if all the cycles use the Lyrical Sciences? I see that the upcoming Cycle 3 uses Vol 3 of the LLS and have a friend w/ all the volumes . Just wondering if I should hang on to them! Thanks! genet
  4. None of my bees-wax I guess, but why would you need to know this???? Is this tax deductible???? Just wondering? gene
  5. Go to the cc website and click to the on the word Budgeting somewhere on the left I think. Also, contact your local group and see if they need helpers and that could reduce your tuition. I know that we are looking into this as well. We currently attend a co-op where we only can choose 3 classes and pay $400, but CC is actually about the same or a little less. Since it is more than 3 subject areas, it is a good value, I think. S
  6. This is an interesting thread to me because we are getting a CC in our area. I do not understand the idea that it is really expensive, though. Now, I am looking at Foundations, because I have younger ones. But we currently do a co-op where we only pick 3 subjects to take . . . .that is about $400 for the basics. CC Foundations is actually pretty competitive, unless I'm missing something . . . .of course, I know there are flashcards and material to buy . . . . . .but at least you are getting more than 3 classes! I find it a pretty competitive value! --- That is for the younger set . . . .the older one's classes look a little pricier
  7. Double Wow! Thanks Lisa is right, not everything has to be matchy-matchy. But hey, I'm in my first year of hs'ing and trying to do it RIGHT! AND plan for the next 18 years . .. .LOL! I guess I am worried for no reason!!! CC is new to our area next year and it seems like what I need --- People to somewhat hold me accountable to some learning . . . .but not to be real regimented in what we MUST learn/do at home. We have nothing like that here. But I LOVE the MFW and the style of that . . . .We may just do some of the activities but maybe not follow the Teachers Manual real close . . . I really don't think SL would fly here . .. .my dd's are too hyper and hands on . . . .they like the activites. I don't know ANYONE yet who does CC (new here next year) and certainly don't know anyone who combines the two. (MFW and CC) So these were my thoughts . . . .thanks for listening! Blessings genet
  8. WOW! I feel honored to hear from the Queen Bee herself!!!! Yes, I feel that time wise it will work. Especially since, I have a 1st grader/2nd grader . . . .we are looking at finishing up Adventures next year. And CC Foundations is on Cycle 3 --- which is US History! Yeah! What I'm concerned about is that the history cycle in CC is 3 years till 6th grade and in MFW its really 4 or 5 years . . . . ; . . . . .so we could be learning Roman history in MFW and maybe doing Modern history in CC. Do you think this would be a problem???? Maybe I'm overly concerned . . . . at least they are going chronologically
  9. Has anyone done/tried to do My Father's World and Classical Conversations???? Just wondering how they worked together? Thanks genet
