You could try steaming it. If you have a cookie sheet or deep pan that is larger. Put some boiling water in it and then immerse the cake pan half way in the water. Cover with a towel if need be. Wait 10 or 15 minutes and see if it comes out.
(It's only half 9 here btw!)
Otherwise I'm of the spackling crowd myself. No one doesn't love frosting;)

I lurve Indy. I even named my iguana after him. Iguana's whip with their tails, so his name is Dr. Jones.
(geeze I sound so 12)

If you google muscle shirts you will see what she means.
The second picture on google had me rolling.
-
We call him the naked man. So a sleeveless shirt is better than no shirt at all.
That has my rolling. Now what would you do come running time if he wore a shirt? I can just see the kids outside, "Hey mom it's naked man!"

You are doing something right! What a sweetie. There is something about the love of my little boys as I watch them grow into men. It's beautiful.

MUS is straight to the point and you have the teacher right there (on the DVD). Our lending library has Singapore and I've been adding problems from that for my child who wanted a bit more color. They work pretty well together. So, if you already have the singapore you could watch for a MUS that is a good price on the boards or Ebay. Sometimes people sell workbooks that are only half done or that have writing with them. You could even ask if they want to part with it. Then you could just do the problems orally with her. MUS does have pretty good resale value if you are going to sell it once you are done.
I was going to switch to Singapore for him but once he started doing it for a few weeks he started having problems and counting on his fingers. MUS has great manipulatives to make things more hands on and concrete IMNHO.

We have been using MOH/SOTW 1 together for a good month now. It's been our best shot at History yet. My 11 year old is much happier with it. My 11 year old only has to read MOH and my 8 year old only has to do SOTW. It's been nice that way. They both get similar time periods and no one is really bored. I like getting two different view points on a time period/lesson, too.
I thought it would add too much with MOH, but it's working well.
I look over the next couple of lessons to see if any match up, so we can do those close together.

I forgot to mention smoothies. You can stick a lot of good fiber in there. Oatmeal, ground flax, lettuce leaves...these really keep my guy regular.

Well you could watch for sign of Asperger's. My son is an Aspie and my friends son is, too. He was obsessed with the vacuum.
But, truthfully he could be just another crazy boy. Either he sounds like a riot!!!
I've got three sons and it never surprises me what they enjoy to do.
-
Our 11 year old Aspie would eat bread and cheese all day.
Have you thought about the GF/CF diet? We definitely see a difference with dairy. We tried GF as well, but it got too expensive at this point and I didn't necessarily see a difference in him (I did for me though).
We eat vegetarian at home. It's helped for him to learn about nutrition (he is very science minded). He has tried so many new things since he read a book on Vegetarian Kids and nutrition.

I'm an introvert, too. If I don't get down time everyday then I fall into depression. It's horrible, too. I find myself angry, complaining, and just falling apart.
I've had to give up on some of the things I wish I could do for the kids. But, I think it's better when we are getting along and I'm not depressed like that.
We go to a homeschool center every day right now. So, I need to decompress from that as well.
Finding out I was an introvert was a really helpful tool for me. It help me to understand that how I would serve as a Christian, Mother, Wife, Friend, daughter etc etc...is going to look a bit different at times. I won't ever be a big leader in my relationships. I'm quiet, sensitive and to the point. That is hard for some people. I'm a bit too up front and inquisitive some times, but it's really because if I beat around the bush too long than I'll have to spend way too much time decompressing.

Well we try for once a week. Usually it's Friday or Saturday. We don't usually eat there though. We can walk (city dwellers) and will often make a pot of rice and then go get some teriyaki and chow mein to share OR our local Mexican place makes burritos as big as a baby for $10.00. We get a few, make a salad and some rice. So, we can easily spend 20-25 for a meal for the 5 of us. We didn't use to do it when we had food stamps. But, we don't now and I find that it doesn't raise our food expenses. We almost always have leftovers to munch on the next day. So, that day ends up a leftover day (including stuff from the fridge). I can never go to the store and not spend $25 so it works out well.

Everytime we have a break we get so much done. But, once classes start up again time flies by and schoolwork doesn't get finished.
We utilize a public school program and are there M-F for a few hours a day.
Any thoughts? (besides quit)

My 11 year old is now in Gamma. We did only one worksheet per lesson and moved on quickly. He can do a few lessons per week. At this point I ask that he gets to Algebra before College (Running start) or University.
I don't use all the worksheets so far so these sets will go down to the my third child.

My son has Asperger's, too. He just turned 11 and writing is a struggle. I think because he is a perfectionist. He hates his handwriting and he can tell when a sentence is written well. He wants his first writing to be a Novel.
We are starting Writing Strands 3 this month. I didn't do any written narration with him when he was younger. So, we have slowly started to add them into his work. But, I try to make them fun. Like have him take pictures of a project and write captions for all the pictures. Sometimes I type his narrations for him and print them out for his notebook. Are you doing anything like that with him yet?
At this point I don't think outlining is necessary for him. Perhaps when he is older. But, I try to keep in mind that he will be behind in some areas and that is why we homeschool. So, he doesn't have to feel behind. Plenty of children go off to college lacking skills in some areas and they do just fine. I know because I'm in the University right now. I've figured out when we are struggling that I need to create a sneak attack plan on him.
It's been a huge struggle for us and I feel your pain. PM if you want.

We are learning German. It helped me to take a College course to get it down and I'll probably take a few more at this point.
Resources are harder to come by. I had French in High School (german wasn't available). I like German a lot better.

I like Mindy's option!
I have a 5th grader now, so I've had a bit of time to realize...you are going to have a few more cycles to go through history. This year you are just warming yourself up. Try to do too much and your going to burn up. Right now all you are doing is wetting her appetite. Have fun and make this and enjoyable loving experience.

Thanks.
I didn't realize it was on Paula's. I feel like such a doof.

We called a 'natural' pest control company that uses an enzyme--NOT a poison. Spiders and scorpions are very resistant to poisons--and most have to ingest an insect that is dying of the poison... With the enzyme solution the spider/scorpion just has to cross a barrier and it WILL die.
That's pretty darn cool. I'm filing that away in my brain in case we get to move back!

Well we have been using MOH/SOTW together for a over a month now and it works well for us. But, I have an 11 year old who needed a bit more to chew on.
We felt like SOTW was missing something for us. I'm not strong in my Church History so it's helped me a lot.

I would do a full house cleaning from top to bottom. I would remove anything that they would love to live in. Big toy boxes, junk under beds, stuff under sinks. If the cabinet under the sinks is dark then paint it white so you can see in there really well. I would vacuum often. Black Widows hide really well and they make massive webs. You could put toys in plastic covered boxes in the closet and dump out when ready to play. Outside I wouldn't have anything stacked up where the children can get to it. Don't tarp anything, they love tarps. Keep your grass really short and always garden with gloves. Talk to your neighbors if they have a lot of stuff in their yard. It's so easy to let stuff build up. A bike here, a stack of wood from a project.
I don't like chemicals but our house was infested in So. Cali. They were living in the walls. We did have everything sprayed. It was worth it to me because I couldn't get into the walls myself. They only did the outside and in the walls. I'm really sensitive to stuff and I did just fine.
The exterminator that came out looked exactly like Beetlejuice when he is all little and has that really greasy hair. It was so hard to keep a straight face. He wiped his hair and nose the same way, too.
And, don't be so hard on yourself. Black Widows are painful bites but if you go straight to the ER you or your child should be just fine.

I thought I saw a post and I now I wished I had saved it. We got a few extras about Greeks and since they are interested we are going to focus on them for the next month.
But, I didn't want to have to figure out all the cultures that are related in SOTW/MOH. We use both and the guide from Paula's Archives. So, if I had a culture list for either book I could figure it out a lot easier.

We really like Math U See so I would be tempted to keep buying that. I use them for all the boys, so I only need one new level per year (free copier at our school program). But, we can get free Math curriculum through our school program. So, I could use that.
Really I don't think I would have to buy anything because of our school library and the two public libraries we are a part of.
If I didn't have those resources I would probably just buy the next set of MUS and figure out the rest on my own. If I didn't have access to the free copier I would just make them hand write all the problems. I had to do it, I'm sure they wouldn't suffer too much.
My dc have captured a great horned owl.

I love owls. What a lovely experience for your children to be apart of. I hope it can be fixed up.
