In answer to EXCELSIOR! ACADEMY ~ Hi, You can follow the link that Kay in KS posted: http://www.thebooksamaritan.com/ They accept donations for anything that is used for homeschool. The Book Samaritan started as an outreach to help many homeschooling families who have suffered from the devastating natural disasters experienced throughout the USA, death in the family, severe illness, unemployment, etc... You mail your books to them and they will mail a receipt if it is requested. It is a small organization with few people but they have a huge outreach so things can go slow - so

UPDATE: (Oct. 01, 2012 pm) I knew this would happen.....the very day I finally decide to ask about TBS on the boards my receipt came in the mail..... :) Thank you, ladies, for your responses (posts & PM's). This should confirm to others that The Book Samaritan is still accepting donations. I am sorry to hear about the damage to the office and computers, etc... I hope all is okay! Have a great day!! :)

Is it realistic to purchase grades 4,6,8 and have grammar covered or is it best to purchase each grade level and use as is? I remember the books repeating a large amount of information each year. Which seems a bit redundant when schooling year-round. I am trying to save a bit when I order the texts. What do you R&S users think? Thanks for the input! :)

I just had this talk with one of my children this afternoon while walking by our pond!! I will have her read this!! -
I'm sure glad I saw your post! I was wondering how I could include my youngest in our older children's science readings. I have had this for quite a while but never used it; but now, however, this will help me to include our youngest. The lessons are laid out nicely and in a logical order, but you can also skip around if you want to which is probably what I will be doing to fit the order of the science texts our older ones are using.

I would like to know if anyone has used or currently uses the book ~ "Thinking Physics" ~ as a supplement, and if so, what you liked/disliked about it. Has it truly helped visualize physics and help with thinking? Thank you!
