  1. We are doing Elemental Science Biology for grammar stage and are in week 11 but I just don't feel like it's enough. Has anyone paired it with RSO Life or Mr. Q Life Science?? We don't really want more experiments, which RSO has a lot of, just more information! My daughter loves science and I want a program that gets the most information to her. I don't mind even combining two :D So, has anyone done this?? Thanks! Also, I know I could just get spines and read to her from them, but I really don't have the time to pull everything together and I love having information right there for me :tongue_smilie:
  2. I have been drudging through these past few weeks with Singapore 1A. I think we will love this program once I figure out how to schedule it  Could anyone give me an example of what your week looks like scheduling the workbook, Extra practice book, intensive practice book and challenging word problems!?!?
  3. Elemental Science Intro to Science was fun for my kindergartener and I like the look of Elemental History's American History for my next kindergartener :001_smile:
  4. Thanks for the responses. But, won't the younger child miss out on the grammar stage of a few history periods because of this?? Or is that not really a big deal? I know I am overthinking this! I have 4 kids, my oldest in 1st, and they will all be 2 years apart in school.
  5. So I'm wondering with multiple kids, do you do multiple history periods in 1 year or just combine the youngers in with what the oldest is doing??
  6. I was just thinking that as I typed my OP. We do narrations for WWE and SOTW and that really is reading comprehension :D Thank you!
  7. Does anyone do reading comprehension in 2nd grade?? We are doing Beyond the Code now and my dd really enjoys it, but I'm wondering if it's needed as we go on? What do you use if you do do it? Thanks!!
  8. We do Christian Light Education Bible and it has a workbook that my dd does activities in. I read a passage from the teacher's guide (the story is also in the student book) and then we talk about it and she does the activity, usually a coloring page, maze, dot to dot, cut and paste.
  9. Hi! I have a 7 year old DD that would love a pen pal! She also loves animals, drawing and music. We live in Wyoming!!
  10. You guys are awesome!! Thank you so much :D
  11. Okay, one more question :D Do I need the Teacher's guide and student guide for everything?? Thanks!
  12. Is the Building Language a complete vocabulary program?? Thanks!! I am getting really excited about this, even though we wouldn't start until next year (if I can wait :tongue_smilie:).
  13. Thank you so much for the replies!! This sounds really interesting. Has anyone used it with FLL/WWE or would that be overkill??
  14. When did you start MCT, did you do the whole program for each level and would you do it again?? :001_smile: I'm really looking at this program, but would like some feedback about it first!! Thanks!
  15. Ok, so if I was to do Art of Problem Solving in middle and high school, what order would I do these books?? Thanks Bill!!
  16. And you just added to my choices :glare: But probably made my decision easier, thanks Bill!! My husband wants to do Singapore math and I just wasn't so sure because of the high school level and now you just gave me a very good option :D
  17. Thank you! This is such a hard decision!! I want to just start a math program and not switch but I JUST. CAN'T. DECIDE. So, just tell me which one to go with :D
  18. My dd is in 1st grade and I'm thinking of switching to Singapore math but my question is whether or not it takes you all the way through high school like Saxon does (which I'm also thinking of switching to)? Ahhh, the decisions
  19. Thanks for the advice! My dd would probably zoom through 1A, but isn't quite ready to just start at 1B. I may just buy 1A to try it out!! What a great idea though about the IP a little behind for review though :)
  20. I'm wanting to switch to Singapore math 1A/1B but I'm confused at what all I need  I want the standards edition, so do I get the text, workbook and teacher's guide for both levels, plus the tests?? And add the CWP and extra practice if I want it? It really seems like alot of books :001_huh: And do I need anything else? Thanks
  21. Thanks! I don't want her to get frustrated with doing school, so we're ditching the workbook window and just using our books :D Wow, I feel so much better!!
  22. I am just wondering how logical it is to reuse workbooks :001_smile: I have 4 kids and I just started having my oldest use a workbook window with all of her workbooks. She gets frustrated with writing with a dry erase marker and then having to show me before she erases it to move on. It slows her down!! Then I'm thinking, well what if my other kids don't even use these books and I made her do this for nothing. I'm also concerned about her handwriting as she's mostly just writing with a dry erase marker and not with pencil and paper. She's writes pretty sloppy with it. So, should I just let her write in her workbooks and buy new for all the other kids :D
  23. I started hunting when I was 14, that was the legal age then, now it's 12. We never hunted for sport, it was always for food and we were raised on elk. Our older kids (6,4) know exactly why we hunt and have no problem with any of it. They do help us process the animals and are around all of it. Our son even when with his grandpa and dad last year when they shot an elk and was only 3, but that is still all he talks about. So, needless to say, our kids can't wait to start hunting :) Oh, and I was a veterinary technician before kids and it never bothered me and my oldest daughter wants to be a veterinarian also!!
