My almost 7 y/o listens to it sitting on the sofa. He has been fascinated with it and always asks if he can listen to a history chapter.
Depending on the time of day, my almost 5 y/o twins sometimes sit and listen or sometime come and go. I don't compel them to pay attention but I can hear in their conversation that they are picking up bits and pieces.
My youngest is 16 months and has decided he too will be homeschooled... starting right now. :) I love that he's so engaged and part of our experience and that we can deal with.
But the climbing over and on top of everyone and everything gets a little out of hand.
I have a whole set of toys for him -- special for hs time -- but he hasn't shown any interest. We've only been doing this for a few days, so maybe the novelty will wear off and he'll get used to the new routine. But in the meantime, suggestions for keeping a very active 16 mo-old engaged during hs time?
We start our first day of homeschooling ever tomorrow. We're starting in the middle of the week to give ourselves some easing in time.
The boys and I are super excited!
Anything I should really know? Advice about starting?
We call ours "faith academy." of course because of the faith we seek to build in our little ones but also playing back to the teacher's (me) name and because it gives my husband and i a chuckle since it's such a common name back in india.
with one doing primarily 2nd grade. He'll be 7 in October.
and with two starting out in Kindergarten. We'll be taking it slow and doing just as much as they can. They only turn 5 in November.
Curious to know what you are looking for in language arts curriculum and based on your criteria, what you selected.
thanks for all the good info!

This would be an introduction for my K-ers and the second year for my 1st/2nd grader. He was taught previously with his Kindergarten and has a pretty good foundation.

I am just starting out on the homeschooling adventure and trying to "finalize" a curriculum for math for my 6 y/o son.
I am considering Singapore and Right Start primarily because I am sold on bringing in the Eastern way of thinking of numbers. Anyone tried both or either? Successes? Challenges? Curious to hear...
