  1. This is my first year as a soon to be single homeschooler. I've homeschooled our 15, 12, and 10 yr olds from the beginning and plan on doing all I can to continue. I'm not sure how much financial support I'll get. It's very encouraging to see that it can be done. I think that HEAV has a special luncheon for single homeschoolers. I'm looking forward to attending this summer.
  2. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension "Bite me, monkeyboy!!" What's not to love?
  3. It's my one weakness. :-) One of my new favorite quotes is from LR2C: Surely we can do for one day that which seems impossible for a lifetime.
  4. I forget what the charge was but it must have seemed reasonable or I think I'd have remembered. :-)
  5. Adding my thanks. Did anyone find the slides to Preparing for College on the WTM website? I still don't see them. Many thanks!!
  6. Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea (CBC) Whenever my dd or I get sick we pretty much set up camp w/Anne till we feel better. :001_smile:
  7. It may be time for me to get off the computer. I was looking for the 'like' button. :tongue_smilie: How exciting!
  8. I start using them in 3rd. I've seen improvement in my ds test scores. I'm not sure if that's due to the exercises themselves or just the testing type practice. The kids seem to enjoy the short readings too. If you do buy, I'd definitely buy the answer sheets too. Ask me how I know. :001_huh:
  9. I like their wine and their dark chocolate. They occasionally have chocolate croissants in the freezer section that are *to die for*!! I'm talking crazy good. The only thing I've ever tried that I didn't like from Aldi was their hummus. Happy Shopping!
  10. My kids really enjoyed the Ranger's Apprentice series. Not educational but lots of good fun.:001_smile:
  11. Look with your *hands*. And the ever famous, "Ok, but if I find it, I get to hit you with it." :-)
  12. 'If you hurt yourself, I'm going to spank you.' Always said to my 11 yo daredevil son. It's so ridiculous that it has us both laughing and he usually rethinks whatever crazy thing he was about to attempt. 'Because I love them more.' Is my standard answer to why can sibling do y and z and I can't. Again-so crazy it's funny. If it's a reasonable question I follow it with a real answer. 'I'm so glad you are my boy/girl!' Said often because it's true! :-)
  13. If you're going to go the legal route, I'd have no direct contact with the former employer.
  14. 1 Timothy 3:15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. An interesting verse...the church is the pillar and foundation of truth. Scott Hahn wrote some awesome books on Catholicism.
  15. I've heard that the verb tense used in 'Hail Mary, full of grace' denotes that Mary had always been full of grace. (full disclosure: I'm non denom with maybe a toe in the Tiber.) ;)
