  1. I would wait until she is gone, pack up all her stuff, change all the locks, leave her stuff on the street, and let her know that if she wants to have it become a legal matter, she's free to get an attorney and file a lawsuit, but in the meantime, she will be living somewhere else.

And if she wanted to never speak to me again, I would shrug and wait her out.

End of story. I know that sounds harsh, but I don't love anyone enough to live with threats and intimidation like that. I adore my grown son, but he wouldn't get those words out of his mouth before he would live to regret them.

Hopefully her adult friend who is so free with the advice will want to take her in.

:iagree: This is what I would do as soon as she left the house after talking to me like that! Also, I would be ready for her if she to wanted to come back & have the contract/agreement ready to sign...

  2. I used it with my 2 older kids to free up some of my time too. I would dictate a list on Mon. & then on Tues they used the cd's. I would dictate another list on Wed. & they would use the cd's on Thurs.

Then the final test for both lists on Fri. were done using the cd's.

They would bring it to me when they finished so I could check it.

I found it worked perfect for us...

Definitely worth the cost for me!

maybe try looking for a used set, I bought mine for about 1/2 price that way.

  3. I'm sorry I haven't used it yet, so i don't know how it would work for your daughter. I'll bump this up for others to see & hopefully be able to answer your question.

Would this work with a struggling 8 1/2 year old? She reads slowly, but okay. She has auditory and short term memory processing disorders. She would like to improve her reading (she is in 3rd grade, reads on a second grade level).

Anyone who has used this have an opinion, or is she to old?

  4. Thought I'd pass this on... I just received an email from headsprout for 50% off their reading program.

This is as low as I've ever seen it!

If you've never seen it before, here's the link~ http://www.headsprout.com/home/index.cfm

I hear lots of homeschoolers love it for beginning reading. I have not purchased it yet, but this may just push me over :)
