  1. I'm curious too! I could not be more thankful that I heard about Elemental Science on this board. We love it! Science rarely got done last year, and I normally get twitchy about experiments. This is so easy! We've done all the experiments and enjoyed them so much! I love having it all laid out the WTM way. I just can't say enough good things!
  2. Thanks for asking this question. I've been wanting to purchase this book but had been dragging my feet. That price is a great deal---just ordered! Thank you!
  3. Fabulous! We do this chapter next week, and I'll be sure to do that! Thank you!
  4. We liked the 'We Both Read" books too. My daughter was the same way, but she liked Bob Books, because they felt like a "real" book to her. Her first whole books she could read alone were "Ten Apples Up On Top" and "Are You My Mother", and she couldn't have been prouder!
  5. Do I need the teacher's manual for Song School Latin? I hadn't purchased it, but now I'm thinking I should have. Thanks! Olivia
  6. This thread makes me feel so much better!! Our just turned 7 year old can't ride without training wheels, and even with them she's nervous. I was feeling like I had failed her as a parent by not providing more opportunities to ride. I really think she just really hasn't been ready. We are going to lower her seat and maybe remove pedals and I really think that will give her more confidence. She's just so afraid that she won't be able to stop. Thank you!!!
  7. I've heard good things about Hank the Cowdog. :001_smile:
  8. Thank you so much! I appreciate your advice and ideas!
  9. Hi all! I have been feeling the tug toward Classical Homeschooling, and have decided to drink the WTM kool-aid. I will be beginning 2nd grade with my daughter this summer. I'm fairly decided on sticking with our math (Horizons) and phonics/spelling (Spell to Write and Read). I'm so excited about SOTW, I can't even tell you. But, I have a few questions about other things. 1. FLL and WWE--I'm hoping to hit the high points of level 1 between now and Sept/Oct. I'd like to then buy the new edition of level 2 and use that for the bulk of our school year. I guess my question is whether to do WWE level 1 or 2. If we do most of FLL 1 , could we just jump into WWE 2, or do I need to start her in WWE 1? 2. Science--We're going to do biology this year (I think) and I'm torn between Elemental and NOEO. NOEO looks super cool, but is about twice what I wanted to spend. Elemental looks like it dovetails so well w/ WTM, and since I've already had the kool-aid, should I just go with that? Thoughts? 3. SOTW--bought a used book and its the first edition, not the revised edition. Is this an issue? I think that is all for now, but I'm sure I'll come up with more questions!! Thank you!
  10. I'm new and considering switching from FIAR to the WTM way, including SOTW. Thanks for asking this question! I'm excited about SOTW. I've loved our time w/ FIAR, but my dd is wanting to go deeper on subjects than just what we can cover in a day or a week. I think she will LOVE this. :) I love that the activity guide is ready to go, and I just have to get some books from the library. She will love the hands on projects. That will be the harder part for me, but I'm aiming to get as many supplies together over the summer as possible.
